I can attest you are incorrect about INTP. Not only would we just go "Oh", and go silent, what we rage at is willful ignorance. Working at a (swimming) pool store, I had a colleague describe phosphates as "little pac-mans that eats away chlorine in your pool". I got stunned in horror for half a minute in front of his desk. (At BEST phosphates are food for algae. It is inanimate. It doesn't consume chlorine. THOSE. ARE. BASIC. FACTS.)

As an INFJ, I usually keep things organized and neat especially at my workplace. But when I get home, I tend to cause irritation to myself by ignoring the mess building up in my own room then one day getting infuriated when I have to sit on my desk to do some analysis/daydream/just thinking and all the little things around my PC on the desk and then realizing I did it to myself even adds up to the frustration. So I have to start cleaning and it becomes a form of therapy by the time I finish, I don’t have time to do what I planned to do in the first place. Anyone else like this?

I relate to the whole - I’m having an existential crisis because I’m not happy about this thing but I know all I have to do are ‘these things’ to fix it but I have no mental energy because I’m upset with myself for not doing it OR I’m upset that my idea of perfection is not reached 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️ We wear ourselves out mentally! How to annoy an INTJ: 1. Have an irrational, overly emotional outburst totally disproportionate to the situation at hand. 2. Double-down on an unsubstantiated claim, despite solid empirical evidence that it’s untrue. 3. Interrupt them when they’re deep in thought. 4. INTP here. What you described did affect me when I was younger, but not in terms of irritating me, rather it just made me sad or, when not sad, made me dismiss the other person as not able to grasp it (aka dumb). Now though, at 45 years of age, I've already introjected that what I find important and interesting isn't really for anyone else, so I myself tell me this. However, there is one thing that still irritates: it's when I talk about something I really _know,_ and the other person dismisses the information I provided as wrong because they don't acknowledge that I know about it, then say they want to hear about it from someone who actually knows about it. This used to make me go nuts and argue bitterly. Nowadays I don't argue anymore, I just stop talking about it and, if the other person doesn't want my input, I let them deal with it on their terms. But I still do feel that pang of irritation internally when it happens. 🙂

@@dimensionalblade2778 Nothing's exclusive to any one type. He was just sharing his biggest annoyances, and that's ok. Also, while there are a lot of things that are annoying to most people, some types will tend to be affected especially strongly by any given thing. Some types are more amenable than others to doing as they're told or accepting one established way as correct and don't have as great a need to explore and figure things out for themselves. There's some obvious relevance to INTPs here given that their Ne needs to explore and consider different perspectives and their Ti needs to reason things out independently.

@MCPanda-bl3nc2 жыл бұрын
Considering what you said, if she verbatim mostly said it the way you mentioned it, that is truly going too far and I'm saying that as an INFJ myself lmao. Like I'll also humble someone to calm down a little and focus on one step at a time, and remind them it might never happen, but at the same time I'll cheer them on if they're dead set on it because you never know unless you try. Of course, there are limits like wanting to marry some celebrity lmao, some things are really just dreams that don't influence your real life. In that regard if someone was complaining why they couldn't find their "*insert celebrity name*" and whatnot, obviously they wont find a copy of that lmao. Having good standards doesn't mean asking for god almighty. Even a perfect celeb or perfect seeming person has to have their bad sides. To this day I have not met a person in real life that doesn't have their down side. Of course, same with life goals, sometimes it's too much coming up with too many possibilities at once especially if you might change your mind later- in that case, there really is so much one can focus on at a time so if you were acting very other worldly and just hitting off possibility after possibility without regard for both your strengths/weaknesses and financial state and the steps that it would take to achieve something big from what you currently have, no doubt the INFJ might get irritated and depending on factors, their reaction might be more aggressive than necessary 😅. It essentially feels the same as being all talk and no action; INFJs are just that future oriented that when they make goals, they don't just say it, they size up the requirements.

Your sister might just be too overprotective or doesn't want you to experience a huge setback badly because it seems like a waste of time, but in all honesty, sometimes it's just better to get something out of your system even if it'll end badly or turn out to not be suitable for you lol. I myself have a problem with wholeheartedly believing I'm capable of much but only way to get somewhere is to try. Your sister might just also not be at a point to realize that, annoyed by the assumption that if it doesn't work out or it feels too unsure then it's a waste of time which is honestly something that can also hold me back at times and wish it didn't. And apart from what’s been shared from other INTPs, I want to add: - When someone is pretending to be an expert when it’s clearly not the case. - When someone is being dishonest specially if it’s because s/he doesn’t want to take responsibility or if I already now the truth. - When someone cannot stick to its own principles. - When someone uses another person or lets her/himself be used. - When someone pretends to care about me, aka: just asking for favours and then ghosting me. - When someone dismisses others’ opinions, likes or dislikes and tries to impose on others, specially if their “reason” is unreasonable. The last one really annoys me, everyone has their own taste for things the only thing I can do is shared mine and listen the reasons behind others’ likes/dislikes and even though I might not agree, it’s not my life, why would I try to impose? Plus I might find something interesting to search for. Most of the time I don’t care about these things but it really annoys me when I’m somehow involved.

Nope, that isn’t anywhere close to the most irritating for an INTJ. It’s mildly irritating, but we’re used to people not getting us so we expect people not to get that stuff either - that’s why we don’t share it with you in the first place. Besides, we enjoy the parts that don’t make sense in a play setting; it’s hilarious. Of course we’re aware of it. If we get irritated when challenged about it, it’s not because it doesn’t make sense. It’s because the person doing it is doing it to put us down and do that emotional bullying that Feelers like to do. That’s the irritating part. But, say another NT type pointing out the same things but with the aim of sharing the fun of the incongruity, we love that. To reliably irritate any INTJ, be as bad as possible at controlling your emotions, be as unhelpfully irrational on issues - especially in a critical situation - or even better, make an issue out of nothing out of feelings that you whip up in your own mind with no justification from reality. Be so unself aware that you can’t be reasoned with. Alternatively, entrap the INTJ in a situation where you force them to do things in stupid inefficient ways, and hover over them constantly so that they can’t rearrange things to make more sense either.

@angelatewson82022 жыл бұрын
@@saloni.sharma 20% of population are Highly Sensitive and INFJs are Highly Sensitive people. Crowds and noise overwhelm them, they like socialising sometimes but need days to recover, get overwhelm quickly. They are highly observant and thanks to extraverted feeling, quickly pick up on atmospheres. So we act as harmonisers in social groups, helping the introverted come out of their shells, calming down the extraverts, and keeping a balance and of course, avoiding conflicts (we hate them generally). It's been said many other types see this as fake or manipulative when it isn't. Our goal in life is to have harmony around us, and that is why we are called counsellors or seers (who in tribes are the medicine or wise man or woman). This is only acting out the way our cognitive functions make us like other types. We are using it to help others, not ourselves. Of course, I know I could be manipulative and be good at it if I wanted, but I hate dishonesty and it hurts to think that people think I'm fake (chameleon ability). It used to worry me too (who the hell am I??) but now I understand it. Generally, I try to be kind and helpful but also keep my own schedule and have time to myself as much as possible. However, famous INFJs are apparently Jesus, Martin Luther King, Gandhi, Hitler, Charles Manson and more! So we do have a dark side (Darth Vader curve) and if we let ourselves go there, it can have unpleasant consequences. I hate when because it is a rare type, a lot of people want to be INFJ like it's precious, and other worldly, when like all the other types, we have our good and bad sides, and we all need to work on our shadow sides more. We have all cognitive abilities, but have four stronger ones, that of course we like to use most because it's just easier (human brains love to take the easier short cut).. So for INFJs we need to work on our extraverted intuition (i.e. having the confidence to communicate our ideas and beliefs and articulate them well, and our extraverted thinking, work on our introverted feeling (i.e. working out who we really are and what we really believe in without the distraction of other people's feelings and thoughts) and most of all, our introverted sensing so we can run our real lives better (those hated mundane and practical tasks, having a direction and vision to go with). When we strengthen these, then we can become a better and more balanced person. I do feel with this video Frank was letting out his dark side,, with some relish!! I have found it helpful when I've got in some tight corners with friends where the situation has been quite dangerous). Anyway, it adds some dark relief. People need to be careful if they try to take down someone I really care about, otherwise outwardedly I seem very easy going so I'm told (not really true, inside I'm a seething mess of ideas and sensations).

As an INFJ one of the things that has consistently annoyed me through life is not being able to make sense of why people do the things they do (in a negative sense) and then get annoyed by the fact that there’s little I can do about it even after figuring it out.
@angelatewson82022 жыл бұрын
I find accepting the fact that people can only change if they want to has been an enormous relief, and lifted any responsibility I felt off my shoulders! Of course, it's frustrating for INFJs who want harmony but also logic, to exist, but we don't live in that world. What I find incredible is finally realising some people are nasty because they enjoy making other people feel bad. I gave up warning others ages ago, because they have to find out for themselves and learn the hard lessons that way too! I don't give negative, toxic people much leeway now, two strikes and they are out, or I see them coming and avoid. That said, when I see people are honest and have generally good intentions, I tolerate their differences much better. Even though I have good intuition about people, their quirks can still surprise me, but if they are harmless, it's all good fun. It helped me a lot to realise I could use the Door Slam when things were dire, rather than putting up because I did not want to feel judgemental or unkind, but our intuition is usually right, and we need to listen to it more. Yes, feeling sorry for people who are not worth your pity has wasted my time in the past, but once I realise they don't want to help themselves, I'm done, and won't lend my ear to constant whining about the mistakes they repeat.

@@angelatewson8202 Thank you for sharing your experience~ What you say is very relatable and I’m happy we were able to reach similar conclusions (But at the same time it is also sad we had to X’D). It certainly makes life easier being able to set boundaries where needed while at the same time accepting that people are the way they are, change if any at all can be a long process and that it is not our responsibility to make it happen. (I’m basically just repeating what you are saying now and don’t have much to add) tl;dr I wholeheartedly agree 😂 (but it did take until about my mid-20s to get this far think)

As an INTJ: Nope, that doesn't bother me at all. Aside from the fact that I can't think of any secret interest (I generally will tell people things, it's merely a matter of time or asking the right questions), I welcome criticism. It provides for a stimulating intellectual conversation and may lead me to a deeper appreciation of a hobby or the perfection of a plan. And if I don't find the conversation stimulating because your points are stupid or not even points, then I walk away because you're (hypothetically) an idiot and I don't care to waste any more time talking to you. Things that actually irritate me: 1) Stupid people 2) Childish people 3) Being micromanaged, particularly when the reasons I'm being told to do things are "because I said so." 4) The moral conflict between what I'm capable of doing as an INTJ and my view of myself as an ethical and fair-minded person. Yeah, I think that's about it.

As an INTJ, I literally cannot stand going to school because of my classmates. Everyone’s always interrupting the teacher or making weird noises, or asking stupid questions or being loud. Sometimes I wish I didn’t get annoyed so easily. 😟

I got one, I'm at a work training and one of the team is egotistical to an extreme and continually interrupts the teacher/lecturer giving his opinions and his knowledge like we flew across the country to hear his dumbass opinions.. OMG I WAS SCREAMING INTERNALLY. Even the teacher was starting to show signs of telling him to stfu. There was some redemption though he ended up trying to prove the teacher wrong which backfired and an awesome comment from the teacher. "Well I guess that's why I'm the teacher and your not" almost everyone in the class laughed at him. This was a group of 20s - 40s working adults too.

I've considered a few careers that involve lots of rule following and paperwork, and I'm always so excited about them...until I remember that being a police officer or a lawyer also involves a TON of red tape stuff, that it's not all about just working through issues.

Throughout all of this, I couldnt help but wonder "Why?". Like, honestly, why are we trying to annoy people? Let the poor INTP enjoy his Java coding in peace or whatever. As for myself (ISTJ) I wouldnt propagandise my way of doing things because I am aware that it is tailored to my needs and I probably have a good reason why I am doing that anyway, but what absolutely annoys me is last minute changes of plans, especially when it is like "hey, I just invited 5 more people to our meeting". My friends did this twice and it was so annoying it almost put me off meeting anymore (not like we are going to these days with covid anyway). Second would be being stupid and insisting on an obviously wrong opinion I guess, but I might end up like "ok, so talking to you is just not worth it" rather than get mad. Edit:just remembered second major annoying thing is definitely fakeness/dishonesty, which bumps the last one down to third

@@lishayost44 fair enough, some of these are pretty obviously mean though. Like attacking an SFP s favourite memory by telling them they only did it because of a random ad (4:10) and the INTP one I mentioned. @@edi0157 Yeah, I'm INTP and I'm only slightly perturbed when someone doesn't like my project. First and foremost, I'm doing it because I'm interested in it. It's a bonus if others care about it or like it. When I am working on something, I am often thinking about whether or not others will like it, but my next thought is, that doesn't really matter. It matters if I like it. Obviously in order to make money in this world you have to do things that OTHERS like, not just what you want to do, but chances are, if one person likes/needs something, a percentage of the population is also going to find value in it as well. Not everyone has to like it. It's impossible to please everyone.

What you said about ESFP's and telling them they only had that experience after seeing a hiking boot ad when they were 12 I died, lmao. As an INFJ myself, I find goofy abstract philosophical-like jokes like that so funny to deliver to people dryly and it makes sense that S-types truly hate a lot of the weird humor we enjoy most because to them it's all too much of a ridiculous stretch. My dad is an INTJ and we've always had funny exchanges that are existential like that. But as Ni doms (as of course ESFP's/ESTP's have Ni inferior which is why this line of thinking stresses them out) we just find thinking in such ways to come so naturally which I think can make us the least compatible with S-dominant types. But he somehow married my mom, who's an ESFX, so anything is possible I suppose.
