How to isolate iPad battery during a Screen Repair - Repair Shop Basics

I did digi replacement on my sons iPad 7 , isolated the battery with a card, was def thicker than a playing card, but now I have no charging and battery percentage not showing, could I have damaged one of the pins? Thanks for any input

Thank you for the video I was thinking if it's out of battery 0% battery, would it it be okay No need isolation? Because still very risky for me
