I built my first model aeroplane in 1959 but I learned something new today.

Great tip for joining balsa sheets together. Instead of the Scotch tape, you could use low tack painters tape the full length of the join. Thank you for posting this method.

I use the same method you do. Plus, I use carpenter's wood glue rather than CA. It's just personal preference, that's all.

Please you liked the video, thanks for the comment, yes any type of tape that sticks and comes off readily will be fine.

very helpful tip, would this also work for butt joining the ends of the balsa to make longer sheets for fuselage side etc or is it best to do a v slot joint. Maybe you could make a video showing the best way to do this. Really enjoy your videos keep them coming.

Hi, thank you very much for the comment its greatly appreciated, pleased you like the video. For end to end joints I would either do a V as you suggest, or what is easier and just as efective is a 45deg cut, which would increase the glue area. Yes a video would be a great idea, thanks for the suggestion

Don't use Cya. It's WAY too hard and will leave a ridge when you sand the sheet. Ambroid is optimal if you can get it.

Not at all, it works fine, I use this method all the time and never end up with a hard ridge 😀
