Sick. That's all I needed. Gonna hit a quad at the local track on my CRF230F now.

I don’t understand using the clutch to assist the bike up into the rpm’s during preload. If it’s 4th wide isn’t the bike already up in the rpm? As in, are you pulling in clutch just prior to preload to get it even higher and releasing as you preload? I know this technique is beyond my skill level as I’d have a hell of a time getting the rpm and drive correct to hit the jump but curious about the technique. Thanks!

When you do that it makes your body want to pogo off the bike it seems. Just when I go off a steep jump, I have to raise my legs up as I'm coming off. If I don't, it wants to eject me off the bike.

You pull in the clutch lever to keep the bike from stalling out when you tap the rear brake.

I'm a beginner and I do this on almost every jump. I compress the suspension to get more lift, even tho it isn't necessary for the jumps I hit. Is this bad?
@themotoacademyYT7 ай бұрын
No its not bad! As you progress you'll learn other jumping techniques that will help carry more speed.

Before I learned this lesson I made the mistake of using my legs to compress the suspension to launch.... Ouch, it sprung exactly at the wrong time and I made it to the landing, but my bike def did not. Through me right off over the bars.

I think one can start with "baby jumps" on smaller terrain/humps, until you are accustomed with it. I too, was scared. ahaha.

There's a very simple double option. The triple is big enough it scares away people who aren't ready for it.

@@themotoacademyYT every jump on a Mx not sx track a Mx track should encourage commitment not punish it if you can come up short on a 150ft jump and still say “a little more and I got it” then all for it but if it’s do or die then it doesn’t belong on a MX track
