Your patience in teaching an obvious beginner was very impressive.. It was nice to see a lesson for a the every day guy that is just getting into riding a track. I would be in that category. Great stuff.

I'm going to let the elephant in the room out, yall... I was squidding it up out there 😂🦑 (obvs) But personally, my takeaway and what I'd hope others would see as well is that AJ is such a talented coach that he took a total new guy goon rider, put me on the most difficult race platform that exists (a supercross bike) and threw me into a totally foreign environment and still created a level of comfort in all that chaos that I would not have been able to achieve on my own, in just a few lessons. It's a testament to what you're missing out on if you aren't an Academy subscriber 👍 Thanks again @ajcatanzaro!

AJ, I'm a 50+ C Rider who, after many years of incorrect technics, finally did a one-on-one with a great coach in the Northeast. The technic of clutch modulation combined with throttle was a deal breaker for me in absorbing how to best control the bike safely...YOU were definitely onto something when you attempted to explain that during the private lesson.

I deliver furniture and I use to forget to breathe sometimes. The reason is, I feel if my diaphragm isn't locked up my tensed muscles become unsteady causing shaking and loss of balance. But like aj said, a long exhale at the right moment helps me be able to breathe while still keeping steady.

great video. while starting out with motocross, jumping was way less scary for me than cornering. every time I had the chance to ride, the track was a complete mudfest though, so maybe thats why I developed a fear of turns. The front wheel would just slide away to the outside non stop and some of the ruts were probably a foot deep.

Ive never gotten to improve on my bike cause everytime i go to ride the track is so damn muddy im crossrutting everything lmao. So damn difficult too learning on a bigger bike

@@dirtbike_slayer8073 My bike was way too tall for me too. I was not able to reach the ground with both feet at the same time, only while shifting a bit to the side with one foot. Just recently dropped it off at a workshop and they will adjust my suspension, handlebars and cut out some of the foam of the seat. I am hoping riding will get easier after that! Good luck to you, I hope we get some good weather soon.

no disrespect to this guy but before he even started the bike I can tell he's a novice because his goggle strap is way too low down. you should give him tips on looking fast before you teach him to go fast😂

this dude clearly out weighs you by probably over 100lbs...at that point sag and suspension set up are going to be way off and make cornering much harder.

I think alot of riders that only kno how to ride and not kno how to work on there bikes need to learn how to work on a bike an kno how evrything work becouse then they kno there bike better and kno how to use evrything . Like for woods racing your always going threw gears up and down and that wears you down so say there on 450 and kno how to work on it and know we’re that power range is they can run diff gears to get that power were they didn have it before an can hold a gear longer instead of down or up shifting an use clutch to that advantage .

I have always been interested in people who are new to riding. There is just a certain look you see with new riders. Some look awkward as hell. But I have seen some new riders look comfortable and pick it up quick. Some no matter how many hours will always be that way.
