It’s supposed to be positive to positive then negative to ground. Ground being whatever vehicle you are trying to start. Never connect both sides if battery until you’ve connected one side on each vehicle

Manual says attach negative to ground point. Never the negative terminal. Am I incorrect? Also no mention of reverse removal.

My main issue with the video is that the professional didn't clearly illustrate the clip placement. Additionally, he incorrectly connected the negative directly to the battery rather than grounding it. The video certainly has room for improvement.

That is not how the 2019 (Rev6/19) Ford Ranger Owner's Manual says to do this. From the Owner's Manual: Connecting the Jumper Cables-- 1. Connect the positive (+) jumper cable to the positive (+) terminal of the discharged battery. 2. Connect the other end of the positive (+) cable to the positive (+) terminal of the assisting battery. 3. Connect the negative (-) cable to the negative (-) terminal of the assisting battery. 4. Make the final connection of the negative (-) cable to an exposed metal part of the stalled vehicle's engine, or connect the negative (-) cable to the ground connection point, if available.
