John 3:16(KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Pray this prayer. The prayer doesn't get you to heaven but believing in Jesus does.) Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I deserve hell. I realize that you died on the cross to save me. Please forgive me. that's why I stopped using water as a daily moisturizer. evaporated water on my 4c caused major knots. I use oils and butters only. it's too good to be true. my single strand knots became less and less. now I have zero problems with knots.

@@pri_shay_dior yes. at first I was only using olive oil but my hair needed something more. I made my own hair butter using castor oil, grapeseed oil and cocoa butter. one haircare mistake I was making was waiting until my hair was in need of moisture. so now every night I'm keeping my ends moisturize with my hair butter. my 4c low porosity hair drinks up oil whereas when I was 4ab normal porosity, I could go days without having to moisturize my hair. oh yeah and I've totally eliminated shampoos which caused my hair to become more of a tangled mess. oh the frustration! thanks to youtuber Naturally High I found my solution, KAOLIN CLAY!

What I learned from being a natural for 10 years: 1. Keep your scalp clean and at the healthy pH ( around 4.0-5.0) by avoiding product buildup at all costs. 2. Keep your hair stretched to avoid tangles and knots and get regular trims to prevent split ends 3. NEVER let your hair dry out 4. Always moisturize and seal the moisture in (LO, LC) 5. Avoid heat damage at all costs 6. Sleep with a silk bonnet on a silk pillowcase 7. Massage your scalp daily 8. Avoid manipulating your hair and use long term protective hairstyles. 9. Never put tension on your roots and edges. 10. Retain length by caring for your ends 11. Get regular trims to get rid of damaged ends (every 2 months) . 12. Alternate between monthly protein treatments and deep moisturizing conditioners to maintain protein/moisture balance.

@omni_zeta37074 жыл бұрын
Curl Demon wym by problem area. If you mean a area that’s growing slower than the rest then yeah I used to have that problem. My sides weren’t growing and stayed the same for the longest but I started getting my hair braided and leaving my hair alone and not my sides are about 9 inches before they were like 4 and it’s been a year so I say just try and let your hair do it’s thing and leave it in protective styles
@rosiebisbis84336 жыл бұрын
In my experience just braiding or twisting my hair is not enough to prevent single strand knots. As they mostly form at the ends I need to add some sort of rollers to the ends to really stretch them and avoid SSK. I used to have tons of SSK by just braiding or twisting my hair and letting the ends unstretch because braids or twists don’t stretch the ends of the hair. I resorted to cutting inches of hair because of that but I ve learned my lesson now.

Same here so what I do after I have twisted my hair I rap the ends up the twist - like a bantu k it but just at the end. This has been a major game changer for me because it keeps my ends really streatched, thus preventing single strand knots. Not to mention my twists look so muh neater when I do it.
@Prov31Beauty-Seeinglassfull6 жыл бұрын
I agree to stretching my ends too, to avd SSK's, but how else can we safely stretch our ends? Esp for me, am at TWA stage of 3-5 inches all over? For instance should we AVOID doing BANTU KNOTS? Since that makes us TWIST (OVER-HANDLE?) the ends around the strand-base of the hair? -(BK protects ends, seals are kept in longer BUT ends get constantly handled when untangles during daily maintainance, styling and massaging??) I can only think of keeping the ends detangled and twisted into the BK more gently. I even put a small hairband on to keep in place, though it still roughens eventually.

Re-watched this and just realized why my ends prefer pineapples versus twists or bantu knots for bedtime. All night in a twist, and over time my ends fade away. My roots and mid-sections appreciate a silk scrunchie for reducing tangles. So, I'm betting on pineapples + a silk scarf for better length retention over the next 12 months. #consistencyiskey Thank you, @greenbeauty! 🌺

Thanks so much Green Beauty. I truly appreciate your discussion regarding ends. I will start to pay much more attention to them. I seldom cut or dust my hair and the salons I go to are scissor happy. I am afraid to try it myself though but it looks like I will have to learn. I have been gray for many years now and believe me people around me were really upset with me when I stopped using chemicals on my hair. Not using chemical relaxers or coloring made my scalp feel so much better as well as my pocket book. I don't work around those people anymore though. I get a lot of compliments from the people currently around me so I presume I am doing something right. Kudos to you Green Geauty and again I appreciate all the positive vibes and information.

This is perhaps the best advice that I have received. A lot of people just say cut off you ends. I've stalled my length by doing this. My ends do tend to be more dry. I feel dumb because it's never occured to me to just give my ends more moisture. I just cut whenever l don't like how they feel and it's not like I've been heat styling. I used a blowdryer for the first time in two years about a month ago. Lol. I'm definitely trying this and seeing how my ends do.

Even if your hair is low porosity, treat your ends as if they are high porosity. So, when you moisturize your hair, make more effort to seal in the moisture in your ends. You can also do a protein treatment on just your ends as well.

Did this for the first time today! I didunravel my braids but after washing and conditioning, I did moisturize my length the three separate sections in mind!

It's all about routine. I am now 4 years natural,my picture is from 2015. I just did my midweek moisture session which consisted of spraying hair with warm water mixed with a small amount of jojoba & Aloe Vera juice.After I dampened my hair with that mixture,I then added my B&B hair lotion and then sealed all of that good moisture with Blue Magic grease.Nothing seals my hair like grease! You see the oils and such don't do anything for my hair topically. However I do drink 5 very green smoothies a week.I deep condition every week with a cheap Creme Of Nature product but on top of that deep condition,I also do a hot oil treatment to seal in that deep conditioner too.I most definitely appreciate Green Beauty efforts. All of my products are not natural but they are definitely working.

I appreciate you saying the setback was for a year. I have been doing wash n go but can't retain length and have to keep cutting and I feel like I'm at the same length.

I hate those MF single strand knots as well. I feel like I'm struggling to keep my ends happy. Discouraging but ill try these tips. Thanks for sharing

Thanks for a detailed description of hair. It has changed the way I view my hair.

This is a super informative video! I have two questions: 1. How do you prevent your hair from shrinking after moisturizing it? 2. Why does it seem like some people's hair shrink more than others/why is it easier for some hair in the same typing category to stay stretched?
