I saw this video and burst into tears. I've been natural for nearly 6 years and my hair is the same length. It looks like I need to go back to the basics. I'm struggling with my ends and maintaining moisture (low porosity).

I'm right there with you. My ends get dry so quickly and knot if shrunken at all. I think I retained 3in of growth last year. Sigh. Im still in the TWA phase. I just twisted my hair last night with a butter and will be wearing silk scarves and wigs for the rest of winter. Just focusing on retention this year.

Does anyone have a problem area in their hair
@omni_zeta3707
@omni_zeta3707 4 жыл бұрын
Curl Demon wym by problem area. If you mean a area that’s growing slower than the rest then yeah I used to have that problem. My sides weren’t growing and stayed the same for the longest but I started getting my hair braided and leaving my hair alone and not my sides are about 9 inches before they were like 4 and it’s been a year so I say just try and let your hair do it’s thing and leave it in protective styles

Thank you so much! I've been watching natural hair videos on here for YEARS and I find your channel to contain the most valuable information! My hair is also a lot like yours, as far as density, porosity, thickness, and curl pattern. How do you style your day daily? Are you currently wearing braids? Did you install them? How do you maintain them? Thank you so much for taking the time to read this! I'm trying to get my hair past APL and it's pretty challenging to stop the breakage/manage my ends after about two weeks or so. I really need a new protective style!

Mercy Blay Hair types have many characteristics (curl pattern, texture, density, thickness, porosity and sebum production). Some of these characteristics don’t do well with gel. I know that hair types that are finer tend to get matted when a lot of gel is applied. If you’re not sure what your complete hair type is or how your hair will respond to gel, try using it on a small section first.
