Very wise words indeed. I once read somewhere that “cleaning your house is a practice not a project” This was an absolute revelation to me! I had always approached cleaning up as a project that had a beginning and an end. It was a game changer once I understood that cleaning is a daily practice. “Easier to keep up than to catch up” is my new mantra!

Such a great video! My friend who's a psychologist says that keeping your environment clean is a good way of having a sense of normalcy and stability. Since we can't control what's happening in the world, can't control what happens to us and can't control people around us (some people do try to control others, tho 😅) controlling our environment is a way of staying sane. Keeping my home spotless is one of my top priority as well, and it makes me feel so great. My home is my sanctuary and my safe spot and for me to feel good in it, it needs to be clean and organized. Plus, once you're past the heavy task of decluttering and organizing and you have a routine, it's really not hard to maintain!

You just described my childhood!! very cluttered & messy, parents fighting...etc. I specifically remember random papers being stacked on each side of the staircase such that there was only a narrow space between them to walk up and down 🤯 I’ve only recently realized (now that I am grown with my own house) how much that can contribute to anxiety! Thanks for another great video 💕

Absolutely true what you said about keeping a clean and organized house. I grew up in a very clean house. Thank God! My mom had my sister and I cleaning as early as 3-4 years old. It’s never too soon to instill healthy habits such as picking up after yourself. And we didn’t get an allowance for cleaning up our rooms either. My mom made it clear that, no one pays you as an adult to clean up your own home. It’s about SELF CARE, SELF RESPECT and being responsible for yourself, but also being considerate to others around you. Thanks!

Thank you so much for another amazing video. 12 months ago I purchased 10 clear boxes (with lids) and I packed away as much of the stuff we didn’t use everyday as I could. Today 8 of the boxes are still in the loft, such an easy task I still can’t believe the impact it’s had on our home. I’ve loved this video, it’s all the things I’m trying to keep up with. Love this video. I’m the same, if my environment is in disarray, I feel anxious and stressed. It’s amazing the difference an organised, tidy and clean environment can make to you as a person. A little everyday is all it takes and so much easier to maintain a clean house if it’s done regularly.

I believe this is how I found you. You were in your last apartment and besides the view, you had a small apartment and it was so clean and organized, and that's what I was attracted to. A few years ago I downsized and now live in a smaller place, and I have enjoyed selling and donating items that were in good condition, I wasn't using, and I knew someone else could enjoy and get use out of. I'm constantly organizing (I enjoy it) and I do a little cleaning just about every day. I don't want to spend my days off from work cleaning all the time, I prefer to relax, spend time with family, and work on projects. I find that keeping on top of my cleaning lets me enjoy my home so much more.

Love all your advice, but this one really hit the 'solution' button for my overwhelm. Instead of trying to declutter whilst still surrounded by clutter, get it ALL out of the way so I can start with a clean slate. Hopefully sorting through everything in a 'neutral' environment afterwards will make it a lot easier to actually make a decision on throw or keep, as well. And thank God we have you, an Aussie motivator. Down to earth, straight forward, practical approach. You're the only one who resonates with me!

OOOHHHhhhh THANKYOU so much!!!!! I'm preparing for a renovation where I will not be at home EVERY day to be hands on apart from instructions. I began really well and threw out several bins worth of DVD's , electronics, old kitchenware/ clothing etc. and then I took a week off & my grouped together new areas vanished and some stuff was even salvaged from the bin by my partner AAHHHH!! You saying it's it's too much all at once made me feel so much better because I literally burst into tears when I jumped back into it & realised I would have to start again. This is the best advice I've been given, I don't have to solve it like magic I can pack all the chaos away and remove it then sort what I need and use only. This is the magical solution I've been searching for. How can I plan new furnishings and storage for the reno with these problem items still here?? I can never thank you enough. You my dear are a saint!

Love love LOVE these types of videos!! Yours are my favorite- you are so straight forward with the truth and thats exactly what I look for in videos especially ones like this. I am re-parenting myself and my child at the same time. Trying to overcome and un-learn a lot of "cleaning habits" that created a lot of shame and guilt and heaviness. Just very unhealthy relationship with cleaning and organizing and running a home, and i have found so much peace and clarity on your channel!! I have gotten rid of over half of our families belongings that we really did not need and were taking up too much space, time, and too much of my energy. I have your 10 habites for an organized home and Daily Cleaning Routine printable's laminated and hung up in my kitchen and I check off everything as i go with a dry erase marker. SO WONDERFUL! My mind, my heart, and my soul thank you. You helped me find peace and freedom!

It was very honest of you to talk about where your need to have a clean and tidy house comes from. I really appreciate having cleaning broken down like this. I've been ashamed & picked on my whole life because I just could never keep my spaces clean. It caused me a lot of dreadful anguish & hostility Towards the ppl who picked on me most (my family). I stopped having anyone over for about a decade.nlast year at 41 I was diagnosed with ADHD which explains my struggles. What I did just before the diagnosis was to hire a regular cleaner because I just figured outsourcing things I can't handle would translate to success for me because I could put my limited energy when I would be my best self. I've recently moved to a bigger space which helps me clean but I lack basic skills & you have really helped me.

I loved this video, and thank you for sharing your personal life with us like this. I don't think you said anything offensive at all. I think you don't allow yourself excuses very often, while many people do. You are a do-er; you don't just talk about it, you do it. And when you say stuff like "just get on with it and do it" people get mad as though you are personally calling them out on their procrastinating when you're not. I learned so much watching you. You got me started on ways to be organized and tackle housework in a way that works for me. You found me products that I am happy to use in my home- that's how I look at your reviews. You did that work for me. As someone who is partially disabled and procrastinates when I feel overwhelmed, I cannot explain how much help you've been. I think it was great seeing your boys help out. I am glad you are not going to raise them to be useless teens/adults. As I've mentioned before, a friend of mine's kids are useless. The oldest is 22 and youngest are 17 yr old twins. They make her life so hard, they are so lazy. She is disabled as well, and since covid started her life has been extra hard because her kids and her parents manipulate her into doing everything while they all laze around doing nothing. The 22 yr old moved out but mom has to pay all her bills and buy her pets and take care of their bills. Her parents just did that with a dog too, it ticks me off so much. But in the end, she allows it, and she doesn't listen to anybody when they tell her that. It breaks my heart. It also makes me unable to be around her family. I imagine your friends love being around your family (well, when times allow lol) because of how you raise your kids. People who get offended by that seem to be people whose kids are lazy ogres who other people just don't like to be around-but that's on them, not you. I have other friends who have kids, and raised them like you raise yours. I love visiting their families. Coincidence? Always love seeing Freddie! He's grown a lot the last few weeks! He is a wee love and he looks so happy. Always warms my heart. Have a great week Aniess!

Oh wow your friend sure sounds like she is doing a lot for her kids!!! You saying you don't want your kids growing up in a home described as filthy and chaotic, and that they deserve better...wow. That hit me hard. I grew up in a messy house and you remind me that not only do my future kids deserve what you describe, but so do I. 💗

Yeah im like that very OCD I never make a list my house is always neat, clean, tidy my mum is also like that so I guess I was raised like that, lol as you say if the house is not neat and tidy my mental health goes mental, I get snappy... I'm calm and relaxed when all is neat and tidy..

I love your attitude and your style as well. I learnt over the years why should I madly clean for guests arrival, shouldn’t I have a clean and tidyish home for those who live here, they are the ones I do it for now, not others who visit on rare occasions. I’m like you, I have tasks spread over the week so on my day off I only need to concentrate on the bigger jobs. Thanks for the inspiration again!

I was a messy child/teenager although I did love to occasionally have a big tidy of my room. My mum kept a beautiful home and in my teens I did start to iron/clean the house to earn extra spending money which made me appreciate the work that goes into maintaining a clean home. I agree a messy/chaotic home makes me feel anxious & stressed. I’d say our home is of a good standard 80% of the time. It’s funny when my daughters friends come over and comment how tidy it is as they have stuff on the floors 😆 I see many people comment on tidy homes not being homely, each to their own. I get a sense of achievement when I’m on top of things and our home looks lovely. Thanks for your inspiring content x

I had a friend whose Mum was the opposite - literally would be vacuuming under her if she was having a snack on the sofa 😅💥 I like to think I am not quite that extreme...I think tidy homes can definitely be homely for sure!!

I’m always so excited when Sunday comes I’ve learned so much from you and I thought I was a neat freak anyway but to organize like you do makes it so much easier for me to do what I need to do plus I live in a 5500 square-foot house it doesn’t take me long it did when I first started it took me a couple of days but now after watching you for well since day one I’m very organized. No thank you very very very much oh and by the way I also have 11 acres that my husband I take care of and he still working as a full-time doctor so our weekends are mostly outside when it’s beautiful or not so beautiful

Im exactly like that, I know some of my friends and family think that I'm crazy over the top with my cleaning. But it's what I like to come home to and go to bed knowing that I don't have a lot of cleaning to do. You have an accent that I can't figure out, have you lived overseas for a while and returned back to Australia? The only thing I can't stand is plastic - I lived in Italy for years and I bought most of my things back home and I bought over there glass storage containers with plastic lids, I love them because if left over pasta sauce is stored in plastic containers it stains them and they are gross. I hope you had a wonderful Easter, take care.

Maybe it's my mix breed Euro family 😍they are mostly from Pordenone region in Italy - I can;t wait to be able to travel again and YES to glass over plastic - I've been trying to reduce and recycle single use plastics every week at home xxx
