Yes! There is a defensive team trying to stop me and Yes! I absorb SO much more when I read out loud. The funny thing about that part reminds me what I've told me kids whenever they are studying for a big test. Read it out loud and you'll remember it better. This whole video is such a great lesson in reading the Bible! Thanks for sharing!

My husband and I watched your Legacy Coalition presentation last night and found it so practical, helpful, and encouraging. We are going to be showing it to our Intentional Christian Grandparenting Class this Sunday. I implemented the relational vs informational concept this morning and enjoyed it so much more than the devotional study format. I just watched this video because I struggled alot during my time this morning with a wandering mind and am grateful and excited to apply these principles that I can hardly wait for my next time in the Word. Thank you for the grace you give in the way you explain that time in the Word is about relationship with Jesus. I have a question - what about when I don't understand a passage of scripture? Do you recommend I break away from the general big-picture reading to dig into it and study it or wait until I've "soaked" in the whole book for awhile, then if I still don't understand it, study deeper then? Thanks so much for your work! I'm 54 years old and sense this will be transformational in my relationship with God.

Hi Tina. Great question! I actually have scheduled to do an entire video on this later in the series! :) I would recommend reading the "bigger" passage for a few more days and then dive a bit deeper. It's frequently amazing how much clarity comes from "big picture + repetition." After that, yes, go to a study Bible, commentary, or Bible study website. I did a video on my 4 favorites.
