This helped a lot, I’ve been working my striking lately and I couldn’t find out why my punches are so sloppy in sparring but so nice on the pads, I think this is it. Thanks Johnny!

I'm a big fan of the sport and I love watching the big fights but I've never boxed in my life. How much can I learn about basic self-defense from just watching your videos man? You make it look so easy (obviously it isn't). I improved my jump rope skills after watching your 'How to jump for boxing' video (already subscribed to yr channel years ago)👍 Any thoughts bro?
@expertboxing4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comments, Benny. It’s best if you can do it at a gym! Self-training is hard to prepare for realistic situations.

My coach always says to stay relaxed but assisting keep hands up in that position and hit from that positions, says to move the head left and right and sort of exaggerating the slip

Hey Johnny what's the difference between throwing a punch and swinging a punch?
@expertboxing5 жыл бұрын
Any punch is throwing a punch. But wide left and right hooks would be considered "swings".

Hi Johnny, ill love a response from youself or someone trying to help! Can you become an amateur boxer even if you train at home? With all the equipment you need ?? If so, is the process to become one still the same?? Thank You 🙏
@expertboxing5 жыл бұрын
#1 equipment you need is different sparring partner to push you to your limits. Try learning how to speak a language without another person to talk to..:how good you think you’ll be compared to others?? But don’t worry, there are ways around not having anyone to train with.

Tighten up my punches by loosening up my punches. Nice. You are literally teaching to lengthen your punches, which is fine, but know what you are teaching and what it is called.
@expertboxing6 ай бұрын
You missed my point entirely. That the tightening is in the core, not in the arms.
