Video Introduction:
Gillette has an approximate global brand value of around 7.55 billion U.S. dollars. The King Camp Gillette was a salesman and investor who came up with the idea of disposable safety razor blades way back in 1895. Here is a case study we did, • Gillette's Billion Dol...
watch it to understand the Razor Blade Strategy.
In this video, we narrate the story of a small company out of nowhere forced Gillette to change its 100-year-old strategy, lower its prices to avoid its market share from falling any further. This company became a billion-dollar company in 5 years.

Sir , the case study was amazing...how billion dollar company can fall in no time and baby company can grow in no time just by understanding the PAIN of consumer....The same strategy u r applying by providing such case study that no one even is thinking of to present in such a way and for just 2 vedios u r giving 12 hr per day....oh my god...so much greatful that I am ur one of the subscriber.....Sir, one suggestion....so much small vedios between the case studies some time feel distracted....it would nice instead of vedio u come in front of camera as because of ur gesture and postures of hand and face we fell connected....😀

I believe that the 'Toxic Masulinity " commercial Gillette did back in 2018 or 19 also hit them pretty bad . My Grandfather , for example, who had been a loyal Gillet customer for the past 50 years decided not pay his money to that company and asked me to order a DSC shaving kit .

Gillette is an American brand of safety razors and other personal care products including shaving supplies, owned by the multi-national corporation Procter & Gamble. Based in Boston, Massachusetts, United States, it was owned by The Gillette Company, a supplier of products under various brands until that company merged into P&G in 2005. When a brand stereotypes it’s own customer base, it is doom to fail.

Interesting. Sounds like wise words. Do you have other examples of companies that stereotyped their customers and ended up paying the price?
@kevinmashru5367
@kevinmashru5367 2 жыл бұрын
@@Learn2oo in recent history, Gillette is the only billion dollar company dumb enough to belittle its primary customer base. Every company stereotypes it’s customer base, but it’s positive in nature. For example cigarettes companies show that those who smoke are rich and successful. Same follows for Samsung and apple with each brand claiming it’s customer base is superior because they chose them.
@asoka7752

What I wonder is these companies know about it very well, yet they continue to mock, harass, and bully the majority. Something tells me P and G isn't doing this alone, but they are a part of a larger group that encourage these kind of behaviour, and if something happened, they are there to bail them out.

Great job again. You are doing great at breaking down points. One suggestion: Whenever you point out listers ( like in this video you talked about three mistakes made by Gillette), please put them somewhere on the screen behind you and continue adding point as you explain. This help people to concentrate more on the points. Plus when you explain how DSC solved them just connect the solutions on the screen. I like your videos and believe in you. Best of luck, you have great future ahead. Saurav Jha

Quality of the products of this brand hugely varies depending on country. I used to to use Gillette razors all the time. But once i came to India i noticed the price is more in India and also there is serious quality control issues. 2 of 5 blades have manufacturing defect. Gradually i stopped using the brand and started using some local brand. Same with shaving gel too. It is just water in india with out any foam.

I am using Ustara from long time. In very few initial shaves I realised that this razor are useless when it comes to slightly longer hair. Experience is pretty bad in those cases. I am using very normal shaving cream and half of blade which goes for almost 3-6 shaves depending hair length. That just costs .25 paise per shave. With modern times shave has become obsolete as PPL are more interested in keeping beard. This razors doesn't help in any way to shape the beard. Last 4-5 years I am using trimmers whenever I keep the beard. I would be interesting to know why its market might have fall and what are the parameters to consider.

Interesting as a Casestudy. I am not aware of how DSC and Gillette are priced for at-par products in the US in recent times, but in India, I've rarely found DSC on platforms apart from Amazon. The price comparison on Amazon India is not in tune with the price advantage in the video; also I doubt if DSC is officially available for India.
