Hi! You’re welcome, so glad it helps. Hmm the adult one took me a while I think. I’d just started knitting, and I did too much too soon and needed a break. I think I put it down for a month or two then continued. The toddler ones don’t take me long now. From the dates on the videos on my phone, about 2 weeks. But I don’t know how many hours/days I worked on it sorry. I filmed other basic patterns (like the flax pattern) to upload, but my phone accidentally deleted them, so I’ll redo them and count the hours. They’d be similar, I think.

Hi Kelsey, This is my first sweater. I’m really enjoying your clear explanations! Especially the info on knitting in the round, which I’m doing. However I have a question. At minute 13.40 on your video, Shape neck opening (front) it says knit 31, put 12 on stitch holder, knit 19. (31+12+19 = 62 stitches). I checked the written pattern and it says the same. But at this point I thought you had kept just 50 stitches for front half of jumper. Should the instruction be “knit 19, place 12 on stitch holder, knit 19”. (19+12+19 =50). This would make sense to me so that the right and left front sides of the jumper are equal sizes. As I say I’m new to following patterns, so maybe there is a simple explanation. I’m stuck. Hey Clare! Hope the knitting is going well! Yeah that was the trickiest part for me when I first knit it. So you knit 31 and put the last 12 you just knit on a holder - so from the right hand needle! Then knit the remaining 19. (31+19=50). The 12 come from the 31. It kind of ends up being 19-12-19 like you said, only you knit the 19 and 12 (31) first. Place the 12 on holder. Then knit 19. Let me know if that makes sense! Kels

Hi! I'm not quite sure what yarn source to use when I switch to the front panel, with the in-the-round pattern. Around 12:40, when you bind of the back panel and move to the front, do you cut the yarn from the back and use that, or do you join a new ball of yarn to the front?

Hi! Gosh I actually can't remember now, I think a new ball of yarn. Probably the best option because you won't have any problems with this, you can just weave in the ends!

Back panel for adult size L says 90 stitches. For in the round, you'd want to double it!

What size yarn does it need? Im fairly new to knitting wondering if size 5 yarn would work.

Different countries have different weight classifications. Is size 5 chunky? This sweater needs aran weight which I think is size 4. But what you really want to go off is the gauge. It needs to be 16 stitches across, 24 stitches down measuring 4”. In stockinette stitch with 5mm needles. Alison who designed the pattern used jo sharp silkroad aran tweed. There is a website where it tells you what is a good substitution for that yarn. Not sure if that’s any help. yarnsub.com/yarns/jo_sharp/silkroad_aran_tweed In addition, I often use knit picks city tweed aran/HW.

@@tofuisbest8091 yes blue blood! I just checked my order history and I ordered 8 balls, but I think I had one left over. I did knit the sleeves smaller though! I picked up less stitches, so they’re not as baggy, which would have saved yarn. It’s wearing great I love it!!
