Just started making this shawl and the pattern is really a lot of fun, especially as someone new to lace knitting. Once I did a few rows I had the repeat committed to memory, so it’s interesting and fun enough not to be boring, but simple enough that I don’t have to constantly refer to a chart or pattern. Looking forward to the final result! Thanks!

Thank you, for the pattern, the positivity, and the video closeups! This video (which I thought I didn't need) showed me that no, I'm not knitting my yarnovers too tightly - I was doing them backwards! Oops! Not sure where along the line I reversed them but now I know why my lace attempts have been less-than-impressive! LOL (And NimbleNeedles has a video that clarified for me that reverse yarnovers don't make eyelets.) I'm only maybe 3" into this shawl but I think I might leave it as is at least long enough to get some pictures to show the difference.

@@roelenecarleton2550 We do that by using switching the yarn as we work the project. Each of the skeins in the kit are dyed so that the finished color of your project will be a gradient. So, you knit a fifth of the shawl with color 1, break it off, knit another fifth with color 2 and so on. I hope this was helpful. :)

Hi Chandi, thank you so much for the amazing video with lovely clear instructions, I have just finished doing one and absolutely love it, thank you. I attempted to make a matching ear warmer on circular needles by illiminating the edges stitches of the pattern, but it's turned out nice but not a true copy of the shawl, is there any possibility of you could tell me how to adapt the pattern for a ear warmer/headband. Thank you again 🥰
@ExpressionFiberArts4 ай бұрын
Hi Caroline, thanks for your message. I'll do my best to help. I'd actually work it very similar to the shawl but do a provisional CO and cast on 12 stitches to make it approximately 2 inches wide. Once it's long enough to fit your head connect your live stitches with the provisional CO via Kitchener Stitch. No need to work in the round. I hope this makes sense. Have a lovely day! 💜

Hi I love the shawl I have some knit picks Palette yarn and funny thing I been searching for a project to use this yarn via internet and saw Palette and thought you was talking about this yarn 😂. But can I knit the shawl with this yarn if so what size needles should I use?
@ExpressionFiberArts2 ай бұрын
So the Knit Picks yarn is thinner than the yarn used for our sample. The Knit Picks Palette is a Fingering weight and we use a DK weight for the shawl. You can use the Knit Picks yarn but would need to hold your yarn double, meaning two strands of it together. This will make a DK weight and then you can use the same needle size suggested on our pattern page here: www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/palette.html I hope this answers your question. 🧡

This pattern is something I've already done in knitting dishcloths (knit, yarn over, knit 2 together) This will be my first shawl. Your video and the written pattern (I have yet to graduate to charts yet) makes this new project a lot less daunting to me. Thank you for doing this video and showing beginning knitters that knitting a gorgeous shawl pattern doesn't have to be unattainable.
