By age 14 I started encouraging my mom to leave my dad (I was too innocent/naive before then, I thought he was “working late” cause that’s what she told me). He didn’t hit her but humiliated her and belittled her. We left him when I was 16, she had been married to him for 35 years, she was 56, had never worked outside the home, didn’t speak English, she didn’t know how to drive (and my dad had a lot to do with all of these things), but she left him. We had many, many hard times after that, but our home was healthy and peaceful, and her courage for leaving him (though I was daddy’s girl and it hurt) was one of the most important lessons she or anyone ever taught me.

Right! Men are natural born hunters! If they want something or someone they will go after them wholeheartedly until they get what they want! So if a man is not pursuing you, then you’re not the one! This concept was so hard for me to understand; this was several reasons why I was always making excuses for men! I was like oh he works a lot, he’s too busy, NO! The thing is, you’re just not what he really and truly wants! That is a hard pill to swallow, ESPECIALLY, when you really want a man, and he’s a good guy!

I think the hardest pill for WOMEN to swallow is the fact that 99% of the men we meet, particularly black men, were never ever really interested in us for more than just sex. And we have to be honest about that. And so that makes us feel like we were never good enough to begin with. When in reality, a lot of black men are HURT themselves, and using women as a scapegoat. This was hard to hear, but it explains so much. Tony is constantly advising women to GET OFF THEIR BACKS because he knows most men only value what is between your legs. That could not be more true, as I have experienced that personally throughout the years. Next month will make a year since I've slept with anyone. I took away the very thing that most men value the most. If you want my time, you will have to get to know me WITHOUT that. Point. Blank. Period. I learned the lesson. Now I play the game by MY rules. Thank you Tony Gaskins!

The shelter helped us to move out in our own apartment eventually. You may be in there for a WHILE but work hard and pray everyday. The day I decided to leave I packed a bag while they were away. God bless you Tony. I pray my experience helps a women who is debating on going. Go and be strong your children are resilient.

Tony, your wife is blessed! I think you're a Godsend & a genius! Never noticed that men set goals, then meet them - women don't approach goals the same way. Thank you!

Thanks for this video. I left my relationship in December right before covid-19 came and I have no regrets . He wasn’t abusive but he switched up on me on top of everything else I was fed up with. I felt a storm ⛈ coming. I told him I was leaving he didn’t believe me , so I packed my stuff and left when he was at work

He came home to an empty apartment. I took everything I owned. Looking at that empty apartment made me realize he brung absolutely nothing to that relationship. Lesson learned

It was a Sad Topic But when he said “ALL THE AGGRESSIVES”😂😂...I agree I’m done being Used up & Giving but being left Empty. I Love myself too much to be Drained. I’ve been doing Self Inventory for 2 years & STILL HAVE SO MUCH LEFT TO LEARN. God Bless you brother Tony🌟 & I’m Dying about the Book Story😂😂

I am so grateful for these videos. Looking back my mother & father clearly did not belong together. He cheated, belittled her, treated her like a maid and once even brought the side chick & her family over for dinner thinking we didn’t pick up on it. I grew animosity towards both parents because my mom was weak for accepting the treatment, dad was weak for just not admitting things were not working & the damage it has done to my siblings & I. I have ridiculous anxiety, became a master at self sabotage & had terrible taste in partners. Now doing all of the inner work, learned from my past mistakes, facing my demons, praying & watching these videos to stay on the right path. I had to cut off my mother though to be at absolute peace. She copes by dwelling in misery & trying to convince me to lower my standards. Not going to happen.

Brother Tony you have a great sense of humor. All jokes aside God bless you and this ministry. Too many kids are watching their mothers getting beat, suffocated, killed. ..It's time we fight the devil back by living holy and righteous the way God has called us to in Jesus name.
