Paul, I think I can attempt to explain your question. In Western culture sex is seen as something pretty standard, you meet the girl and often times after a week or two of dating or sometimes even less you begin engaging in sexual activities, it is seen as one of the perks of having a boyfriend or a girlfriend. In Western culture we are very quick to consummate and not make a very big deal out of it when break up happens. In the Philippine culture often times the period of pursuing and courtship spans over longer period of times, not to consummate prematurely, but to keep these romantic "boundaries" to get to know each other better and ascertain over time that she is the one. I think we foreigners should understand the difference of that process and also the fact that Filipina will often times will go out of her way to make a man happy does not mean that this was preferential, however, saying that I think the outcome is to expect that she isn't just temporary investment to check out at leisure, but a life investment. I will conclude this by saying, the discussion here is about finding a good woman, but what about a good man? We men have these set of standards that we often want to evaluate other women, but perhaps we should evaluate more ourselves first :)

Dating is really no different around the world, it’s just about respect for each. If you’ve gotten to the stage were you’ve met the Filipina girls family etc, this means especially for a Filipina and there family your deadly serious. It’s a big deal in the Philippines, so western guys have the wrong attitude. They are imparting there western culture into the Philippines, being a western guy. one of the biggest reasons for dating a Filipina, is there cultural identities. Certainly not my western ideology about a certain western values and virtues. If your dating, your dating ...you don’t move the girl in within a month etc. Your setting expectations and when the relationship may end, the guys says “ we were just dating” . Hello 👋...you were not just dating, you’ve given the Filipina life expectations. Where this becomes more entwined is, if you date a province girl. The independent city Filipina will not flinch about putting up these with western characteristics as they have choices...it’s called walking away, this is why more care needs to be taken about entering a relationship with a province girl. It’s simple stuff, the best relationships are true partnerships. That’s what I want anyway, I’m not going to making choices purely based on what i solely desire. The tattoos may signify a girl that simply wants to stand out from the crowd, maybe simply to assert her independence. To be more than just ordinary. What’s wrong with that? Doesn’t necessarily mean she’s a a bar girl. I do relate to the white knight description, I’ve watched a lot of old movies, where the guy in the white hat always rescues the girl. I would like to see you guys address the the “Single Mother Epedemic” that seems to be all too common in the Philippines. I’m sure most of these girls were told in their teens, and early twenties that “ I will love you forever”. They just didn’t offer the additional information “ until you get pregnant”. These women and these innocent children deserve someone that will love them! I’m 71, and gave up on having children with anyone at least 30 years ago. But if a younger woman with a small child really wants me, and her child needs a man that gives a damn, why not me?

The culture is Hit & Run. The majority of Filipinos get the girl pregnant and then hit the bricks. This is the majority. Many girls are looking for older foreigners for financial stability and to have a companion that will stay. It's true, only experience in analyzing a person will find you a good woman. Unfortunately a few broken hearts is the only way thru the fog. The best thing I found is once she tells you things, and you ask her again in the future if she can spit the same words out again, that's a good indication.

My girlfriend and I have been in a LDR for 4 years and we always make each other strive to be better people. Actually, if someone who is 25's longest relationship is 6 months, that's not necessarily a bad thing. It means she has not met the right persopn, & let's face it, there is no point being with someone long term if they are not the right person. I’m not an ex pat but live in America and am married for 10 years to a beautiful Filipina from the province in northern Luzon. Hello Mia! This is a little longer than I usually post, but please bear with me. I just happened to find your channel and actually enjoy that you are a newbie. I'm a DOM (dirty old man) Cano who enjoys the Vlogs of Filipinas. I have only found 2 that I really like and and hoping this is the third! What am I looking for? Well, first a cute girl (what a surprise, right?); not going to watch if a girl isn't cute! I know, my bad....but it's candid and from the heart; it's who I am (and is for most guys). 2nd....someone who speaks well, is intelligent; and isn't bullshiting everyone. I'm not looking for 'truth'....too many different opinions of what that is, but rather candidness. What you're thinking and feeling. There can be arguments about what is 'truth', but none about what you're thinking! For me, so far, so good! I should probably tell you that a good friend of mine has an asawa from Samar, that everyone here just loves, so that is the reason I'm looking at Filipina vlogs. She is so homesick (but my friend has no idea) and talks so lovingly about Phils that I want to visit. I'm rambling, sorry, but here are a few suggestions from my point of view. Vlogs in front of the microphone should be no more than 10 minutes, top. Those outside (like Titos restaurant and on the beach) 15 to 20 minutes, sometimes less is more. Love the way you talk to the camera....it's as if you're talking directly to us; great! Not many can do that effectively. So, that's my 2 cents worth. You're off to a good start, keep it up! I'm told that 50k subs is the majic number for making a decent living on KZbin; so, let's make that a goal!

I have been enjoying watching your videos - you are getting more and more confident which is great! I agree what's up with all of these other female vloggers or girls constantly showing off in their bikini's - sure it's sexy for us guys to see but where is the real content? We forget about everything and only see the sexy girl. We all know sex sells but not the type a girl I want to be with for a LTR. All of these guys share their affection towards her constantly, her head is swelling - the vlogger replies back with a HEART and replies back with a positive remark which makes the guy think "oh she likes me." To me this is a teasing method - leading guys on to get subscribers for all of the wrong reasons or to send them money. What guy wants to be with a girl doing this - no guy can compete nor could a female if the tables were turned. Exploiting guys with their own techniques of getting money buy saying no this is not relationship only friendship and to help me - please what a joke! Who do these girls really think they are fooling. No guy is going to buy land or send expensive gifts, pay someones rent or send larger amounts of money if there is no real intent of romance behind doing it. The biggest red flag is MARRIAGE. The % of failed marriages is extremely high in the modern internet dating age. The safest way to keep a relationship is to never get married. That way, there is no reason to file for a divorce because there's no financial gain. Whoever started this contract between a man and the government must have had some vague reason like the jewelry industry who said diamonds are a girl's best friend. Contracts always are connected to money in some obscure way. Luckily, me and my gf are both married already, so we cannot marry anyway. Obviously, after two divorces, I would be a fool to go for strike 3. Also, if any man brings a filipina to the west, he is in for a breakup if any small thing goes wrong. There are just too many suitors after her in the west.

Trust your gut when it is warning you. Consider it asleep if it is not. Hire a PI because with ph laws you HAVE to know for sure what you are getting into and with whom. Its not a privacy issue. It is not a privacy issue if she is already married and or already has children or has a criminal record. Those are things you SHOULD know about someone you are considering getting serious about. In the west you can let those things play themselves out in the course of courting. Its easy to unwind if you find out those things are not as advertised. In ph you simply leave yourself open to scams and potential prison.

Paul is right about where you meet someone. After one failed relationship with a filipina I just take things slow with no promises. It is most important to meet in person and spend time together so you see how you get along in person. Online anyone can say anything to get someone's attention. At this point in time I do chat to a few girls and try to learn who will be the best match. It also helps me to learn more of the culture and history of the Philippines. I don't send money to anyone I just met online. I have to know some one for a long time before I consider that. I do help one that I chat to with a load for her phone but don't send the money I use a company that puts the load right on her phone. I have heard a lot hinting about money and have heard almost everything about problems they have. Some of very creative but to me it is a red flag. Now I have chatted to some that have good jobs just telling you what is going on in their world. I’ve been talking to this Filipina for over a year and I have talked to the family and I seen everybody on video. And I really do believe she cares for me, but sometimes I get the feeling that she’s doing it more because she’s being told to buy her mother. For some reason they think all foreigners have money which we don’t. Yes we may have enough money to survive on and pay our own bills but not all of us are “Rich” as you were mentioning I guess it’s just a gut feeling, but I’ll know better when they allow visitors to go back into the Philippines. I guess I’ll have to check it out for myself and hopefully things will turn out OK. (That may even be A good topic to....Are Filipinas pushed into going out with foreigners because their families are making them so hopefully they have a better future and be more financially stable?)
