So many Western "diet" dishes are so bland, it's like punishing you for those extra pounds! Flavour doesn't have to add calories--that's why God gave us spices and soysauce and onion and garlic.
@FutureNeighbor7 жыл бұрын
Amen Anna. Amen. 👏
@fantasieanime7 жыл бұрын
Onion and garlic I am one hundred percent behind, most spices are good too. But soy sauce (the normal kind) tends to have a high sodium content, so it's good sparingly. I may be wrong but im pretty dure having too much sodium can make you bloated/ retain water, not to mention other health risks associated with high sodium consumption.
@annainspain51767 жыл бұрын
And yet the "low-sodium" soy sauces on the market are full of much worse things.
@MsEliteForever7 жыл бұрын
fantasieanime Soy sauce can keep the water weight on likely. Im looking to how koreans eat, but this food looks too good which increase scale...
@yang36257 жыл бұрын
I am pretty sure the sodium amount in his food is not over the chart. In the end it is always about portion and balance. And it is much easier to maintain the diet if it tastes good. What's the point of bland healthy diet that couldn't last?

You both make the recipes look so easy. The meal was balanced and even though a few people mentioned the sugar and oil, in reality it was only 1 T per recipe. Way less than we'd use otherwise. Please do a few more of these. Also, could you do some more tofu recipes and please take the mystery out of tofu. I have never made anything with tofu. I want to. But I have no idea what to buy. Thank you for all your hard work.
@FutureNeighbor7 жыл бұрын
Thanks T for the comment ;) Yes, I would recommend visiting a Korean or Asian mart. Larger variety and selection of tofu - as it is part of our normal diet. I personally never understood why tofu got such a bad rep in mainstream media in the US. A few good recipes could turn that around!

Thank you so much for this! So many diet videos are made by westerners for westerners so it's a boring combination of plain protein with plain veggies with plain carbs. Nary a spice to be found, despite the fact that spices can make you feel fuller, more satisfied, and are healthy. I can't maintain a diet like that long term - variety is the spice of life! Will be subscribing to your channel :)
@FutureNeighbor7 жыл бұрын
Hey, our pleasure!! My thinking is the same with yours. With the right spices (wet or dry), you can really uplift the flavor of normal "diet" foods like broccoli, chicken, etc. Eating it too plain makes it feel like "dieting" and you feel the need to "splurge". We have a few other low-calorie banchans. Should put that out soon!

Using olive oil is better than other oils cause at least it’s healthy, and if you just add more sauce and use a non stick pan, you can get the same results without any oil. Also, using coconut sugar/honey/maple syrup is better than just white sugar. Otherwise, that meal looks fantastic!
