Body shots are under taught and not used enough or thought of enough in street fighting or even in MMA. You see them used more in boxing and kicks going to the body in MMA, but not as many punches. Good subject and it shows once again the giant importance of footwork.

+Mike Reis Yup cruz showed that yesterday when he was using basic dodging techniques and TJ could not even hit him.
@Commievn8 жыл бұрын
+Mike Reis Body punches is very hard in MMA. Especially the hooks to the sides body, you need to close the distance. Sure Cruz do body punch but that's only jab and rarely do you even see a cross. Most MMA fighters just prefer kicks that's all since it has longer reach and more power. Also, they allow *knees*. Why liver/solar plexus punch at that close distance when you can use your knee to obliterate their liver/stomach/rips ?
@johnhurt72558 жыл бұрын
ok thank you
@TFSMikeRath8 жыл бұрын
Chris Griffin I can see what you're saying and I agree where that's where a lot of people would go that route, but even Bas Rutten likes punching the liver and is shocked on how few use it since he used it often. I still blame that on training.

Great job Shane.one tip on body punches that a lot of fighters make mistake on is the eyes.make sure you teach your fighters on keeping eyes on fighter.if they look at body when attacking body is a dead give away you going for body shot.its just in the details to a great body shot.👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼

Dude, I love that shuffle switch on the jab! Been working switch step jab to rear (what would have been lead) head kick, liked the idea of same side combos but maybe I'll throw in that body shot beforehand, would def let me set and balance before the kick.

+stat2k excuse me? many people learn greatly by watching. You can watch a pro and then slowly learn intricate, subtle details of the sport and slowly get better off of that. Your mind might not actively register it, but you subconsciously notice things and in trying to aspire to that professional you will incorporate them into your own actions. And please dont be so rude for no bloody reason.
@Feyesal8 жыл бұрын
***** from the way Im seeing this, he's giving Mike Tyson as more of an example rather than an alternative to the entire learning of the style/ the video, and you could have just disagreed in a polite, civilized way instead of calling him a "fucking idiot", and still it does not take away from what I said.
@lukaku20958 жыл бұрын
You can learn a lot from watching Tyson box actually. A huge part of fighting or any sport is stealing techniques from others and incorporating them into your own style. If you are good at mimicking techniques it can help you progress greatly. You are also limiting yourself by saying you can't do a technique because you don't have the power of Tyson. I'm guessing you would be a nightmare to train with that attitude.
@Feyesal8 жыл бұрын
***** alright then, that's fine, just dont be so rude next time.

Hi, just a quick message to express my thanks for your excellent content. @fightTIPS: Terrific advice on avoiding that center line! To all of the newbs on here: Conservation of movement is critical. When slipping, subtle is the way to go. Do not telegraph your movements ( the man in this clip is a little guilty of telegraphing & also not keeping himself "small" and compact. folks this is critical!
