Yeah I have 265s on my rig for daily city driving and with less tire mass and a smaller diameter I have seen a great increase in MPG in the city, 14 mpg all day long on a 2000 Land Cruiser which is great. Love your videos and hope for more content soon!!!!!!! Thank you!

Did you loosen the LCA bolts to allow for the LCA bushing to not have torque on them? If they have the torque because of the torsion bar cranked, wouldn’t that wear out the LCA bushing prematurely? Thanks. I want to do this to my 2007!

I personally didn't and all the video's I've seen no one has touched the subject on that. Keep me posted!

The most important measurement that you've got to check and never go below that value is the droop distance. As your torquing up your torsion bar and raising the height you are also starting to reduce the droop distance. Droop distance is the distance that the lower wish bone can travel before it reaches it end stop. The min distance recommended is 5.5 inches for the LC 100 IFS. This is a safety consideration. You don't want your inside front steering tyre to loose contact with the road surface when cornering at speed because the inside front suspension has reach its max droop position to soon and lifts the tyre off the ground. You will only have the outside front tyre being compressed, doing all the gripping and trying to steer 3260kg round a corner in the rain. Bad situation to be in. Cheers

5.5 inches minimum droop not correct. I doubt it's even possible to have that much droop at factory hight? Yes, the minimum droop is very important to consider when lifting the IFS 100. Here in Aus we aim for a minimum of 70mm droop when doing a lift on the IFS 100, that's 2.75 inches for....Americaaaaaa! 😉 Most aftermarket suspension lift kits are very missleading, for e.g OME/ ARB are guilty of selling 2" lift kits with factory length front shocks, so in reality that 2" lift is far too much, as you run out of droop. Your shocks will be topping out over bumps and causing poor shock performance and very dangerous handling. To get the best performance and safely have a 2" lift on IFS 100, you need to use longer shocks that are a minimum of 15mm longer that factory, diff drop and longer UCA's.

Yup... gotta run the system a bit (run around for like a couple miles) to allow the system to settle as it moves around. This is due to the IFS system flexing and moving around. And if you are gonna start doing heavier stuff like this, dude run to HF and grab their 1/2 ratcheting BREAKER BAR!!! Makes stuff like this SOOOOOO much easier! One of the best investments I have done form there!

@@MisterMemo theyre the factory 16s offset Is 60mm I think? The tires are 285/75/16. Yesterday, I cranked the right TB two rotations and the left one rotation (seemed to be sitting slightly lower on the right) so far no more scrub. Both sides now measure equally hub to fender. Hopefully I'll figure out my new suspension setup in the next few weeks.

Sway-A-Way Toyota torsion bars offer a 20-30% increase in spring rate over stock and are perfect for raised vehicles looking to improve their vehicles suspension performance.

Mister Memo ok hey right on man. Just got a 99LC and the front looks a lot lower than the rear. So I think I’m going to start with doing what you just did and go about 4 cranks to almost level it out. Just until I can decide what tires and I want to put on. Thanks again

Max kellen awesome bro, congrats! You should be fine just cranking them. Ima put a front bumper and winch so that’s why I got the Sway-A-Way torsions. Make sure to connect with me on IG @NINE8LC_ FYI: I’m running 285/75R16

@MisterMemo 3 жыл бұрын
You don't, It's rear coils. You need to buy aftermarket taller coils.
@Dee_Kay1984
@Dee_Kay1984 3 жыл бұрын
best way to deal with this is to get some 30-50mm poly spacers for the rear, 30mm is best. If you get the taller springs you are asking for some complications in the system and ride quality deteriorates

If you are referring to the hydraulic system that comes standard with the Lexus 470 (and later), for safety's sake, the system automatically lowers back to Normal (from High) at speeds higher than 19 mph. I am curious to learn how to defeat this mechanism such that the High position can be kept at higher speeds.

Yes! Any time you lift a vehicle with independent suspension the wheels will lean outwards a bit (or a lot if you lift it a ton). Always get an alignment after doing this, otherwise your handling will suffer and your tires will wear unevenly

Hola Memo, how are you? I just bought a 1999 Land cruiser with 255,000 miles and I paid $5000. It seems to me that it's very cheap. it only has a transmission problem. it doesn't shift from third to fourth It is seems to me that you're a very knowledgable person. I wanted to know if you can help me diagnose the problem and find a solution . Thank you very much in advance Daniel Sorondo

After adjusting my torsion bars and doing alignment I stated to get vibration right away at starting speed of 50 miles and up. Only getting vibration when pushing the Gas pedal. When just rolling vibration stops... any one know what's the reason??

I started getting that once I lifted my LC. I feel I might have the torsions cranks to high. I hope to take it to a driveline specialist to look over all the drivline specs and make sure they correct.

@@joelkuznetsov2826 If its lifted in the rear then the vibration is coming from the drive shaft. lifting the rear affects the angle of the pan hard bar (which would normally be sitting flat at stock height) and causes the rear axle it to kick towards the passenger side ultimately affecting the driving/sitting angle of the driveshaft. The new "DS" angle plus worn or older pinion bearings will cause a pretty noticeably vibration when accelerating. I had the same issue when i lifted my 02 4Runner. Eimkeith.com makes a panhard correction kit for the 80 series land cruiser, not sure if it will fit on the 100 series but he's pretty good about responding to questions if you DM "eimkeith" on instagram.

@@CHC-bl1lh you don't think I just need to get new u joints ?
@CHC-bl1lh
@CHC-bl1lh 2 жыл бұрын
@@joelkuznetsov2826 Definitely! Replace the U joints first and see if that helps. I meant to include that in my original response, but the panhard bar correction will just return your rear axle to its original location and take the stress off the previously listed components. The kit itself is only like $100 but replacing the U joints first is a cheaper first step to isolating the problem. You can also disconnect the driveshaft from the rear axle to see how much play you have in the pinion bearings to see if they are worn. The bearings are expensive as shit so just returning the rear end to its original geometry with the PCK should relieve the stress on the U-joints and bearings and eliminate the vibration.
