I actually am someone who cuts my own hair. I was always dissatisfied with the work done at salons I went to so I decided to just do it myself. I ended up liking it better than the work done at salons so I kept at it and I use these videos to improve.

I've cut my own hair since I was 15. I'm 20 now and I haven't watched or read anything about hair till a few months ago. My hair is generally long (80s speed metal style) and I've gotten compliments on how it flowed when I was 17. I cut it short at 19, but it's long again and I'm studying hairstyling to make sure I don't damage myself

Salon Guy, Excellent tutorial. I am going to try on my husband right now. One thing about this haircut that you should point out is that this cut leave the hair at the crown long so that someone like my husband does not get a cowlick like he always does from the salon o matter how many times he asks them to be weary of his. 🙂

I do cut my own hair for the last 6 years.. just last years I started leaving the top long and have learned how to cut it and take some volume off. I will say I would have not been able to cut my hair if it were not for my 3 way mirror that my mother in law made for me. I got the idea form a bathroom near that has 3 cabinet doors that open to the side and helped me view the back threw the mirror across. Also when I was younger I did planned at the time to be a barber and got practice cutting hair from school friends. It is not easy, but has saved me money, time, and headaches from barbers that want to do 1 hair style on every one or over charge and still dont give me the hair style I asked. They dont even know much about cutting with shears and most hair stylist dont know about skin fades so I'd rather do both my self.

First of all, thank you for such an informative video. You definitely have the talent of not only cutting hair perfectly, you are a gifted teacher as well. I am an elderly man who has cut many throughout the years, wife, kids and my own using the exact technique as you have just demonstrated. Long or short styles, always pulling the hair away from the head for layering (except for the neck), cutting the top all the same length so a part can be made anywhere or none at all. Will be watching your other videos when they are available.

I might be stoned myself but hearing his voice in half speed made it so hilarious 😂

Great job...very informative. Definitely a lot of techniques shared and learning for viewers. I've been cutting my own and my son's for many, many years now and I see quite a few tips that will make the process much easier, less time consuming and get me through those areas that just never seem to go right. Being left handed always throws me when trying to match each side...or maybe I'm a bit dyslexic. Definitely need to review and practice. But hey...I definitely can't compete with your level of experience and expertise. So I will take what I've learned...review for subtleties I missed and keep working at it. Thank you!
