Such a good video that helped me a lot! So many other videos just divided by ceiling height and just put them in a grid without intention. Putting it over work areas makes so much more sense and imo looks better too. Intentional 💪

Do you have the CENTER of the light 25 inches off the wall, at the edge of counters? Or is the furthest point of the recessed light 25 inches off? E.g. for the latter condition, a 4-inch light would be 21-25 inches off the wall, centered at 23.

You are wanting the center of the light to be at the edge of the counter. So your example of a 23" counter is correct to have the edge of the light at 21" off the wall if it is a 4" light.

No they are not, they are aligned with the center of the different work stations on each side.

do you recommend 4" or 6" lights for the kitchen

We use 6" lights because they have a slightly better light volume per can. However, using 4" cans can be less intrusive look but may require a few more.
