truth...my son decided he was going to learn to ollie in one day. He watched your video and in about six hours he was able to ollie while moving over small objects. He has been skatboarding a little less than a year and a half and has got all the tricks down on your skateboarding made simple vol 1 thanks to your videos. He has also gotten very comfortable on a minni ramp, learned a stack of tricks, and taught others. I'm his 35 year old father and he has taught me how to ollie stationary and Cruz his minni ramp. My ten year old skates as well as most teens in our area thanks to your video's

I'm 42 and a half. Haven't skated in probably 25 years. Finding your videos has helped inspire me to pick it up again. Bought a new deck this week, gonna look for some trucks and wheels tomorrow. I was trying to hold out for the new Avenue Suspension Trucks, but the desire to skate now is too strong. Perhaps I'll grab a set when they drop. Thank you for the channel, the info, and the inspiration guys.

I just came across this series and it's awesome! I wish I had this when I started skating 16 years ago! we just watched videos and used the pause rewind to learn the movements. Like everything you need practice or ( seat time) and especially with skating you need to train your body, muscle memory, feeling ect because the movement in skating is so different, it's something you don't pick up in a weekend, anyway thanks Braille for the informative series and it has helped me tons with better techniques and consistency so mad props, cheers

following the list of tricks actually really helps. when I started skating I learned ollie and pop shuv and wanted to kickflip and could never do them and when I did it was ugly and on the tail. but I took time off of kickflips and learned fs shuvs, 180, half cabs , and stuff like that and then learning kickflips and varial flips was easier for some reason. idk how but it works.

Fantastic video Aaron, love the work ethic encouragement. Something I use to worry about - a lot - was learning incorrectly. It stressed me out so much I use to be at a stand still which lead to a bad habit mentality where I would slip into the "What's the point" attitude. So dangerous guys... If it happens you'll feel it attack your soul. But now I've come out of that funk and I'm super motivated like I use to be
@brailleskateboarding9 жыл бұрын
+Nik Davis that's awesome man! thanks a lot for that comment, I loved it!

+Braille Skateboarding It took 5 years to figure out how dangerous it is to say "what's the point" to yourself. Self talk... it's super sucky sometimes. I really really really hope people who can relate can learn how to get through something tough like that. Keep up the videos Braille! You guys are super awesome! :D

Hey Aaron I want to ask some advice on my Ollie. I would love to send you a skate support but I don't feel that is necessary with my problem. I can land ollies ok about the height of a board but I'm sure when I skate a new board it will help (my board is a 775 world industries that is a year old with bad grip) this is stationary. When I roll I find myself landing very preside and falling off or just missing it completely. Ps don't know if this changes any thing but I wear a size 12.5 Adidas daily Vulc leather mesh.
@justinaybar13009 жыл бұрын
+BaconBeShaking possibly riding a larger board size. a 7.75 is quite small for a 12.5 size show. I had the same problem, i ride an 8 with a size 12 shoe, but it just took a lot of practice and you will find out that you will get better and better at your ollies if you keep practicing. also try different footing when you are doing your ollies, that helped for me find a better foot positioning, as you can find in many videos. Let me know how this works out for you. BTW im not an expert but hopefully my advice from experience can help
@baconbeshaking83719 жыл бұрын
yea it did what i found I was doing was that when i rolled i wanted to brake to my toes would shove forward but i just worked on landing on the balls of my feet and i learned ollies better moving to front 180s :)

@armstrong.r9 жыл бұрын
+Octopie I can heelflip any day, but I've still never landed a kickflip. I think it comes down to which orientation you work best with. For example, frontside and heelflip tricks are easier for me, but I know a lot of people who can easily do backside and kickflip tricks.

@brendalg49 жыл бұрын
I am starting to push/balance so I don't know.. easier tricks that don't require an Ollie to do. Maybe old skool tricks before the Ollie got invented?
@brendalg49 жыл бұрын
+Braille Skateboarding I just read a comment from someone that learning to Ollie helps you to do other flatground tricks because it gets you used to being in the air. I am new so I do not know what would be the easiest trick to get you used to being in the air. I wouldn't think it would be an Ollie because the Ollie is hard for people to learn in the first place. Since I am new, I have no suggestions.
