I have PTSD from an abusive and violent childhood and early adulthood. This is so true. Buddhism has helped me move forward. I will say though, the body remembers what the mind forgets so sometimes it is necessary to process old traumas to fully heal from them. That’s what I am doing in therapy, but after they are processed and the body can work through what it wasn’t able to before, we have to let it go.

I believe there's a difference between repressing past traumas and letting them go. People who were traumatised as children often hold onto that suffering for a long time. It needs to be revisited to let go. There's an essential step in understanding and accepting what has happened. It cannot be changed; all we can do is thank the past for it's lessons and focus mindfully on the present.

Acceptance is the key to happiness. We all sin and break our religion or way of life every day. Even for a good reason sometimes. Acceptance is the key to happiness. A buddist can't touch a woman. But can save one from drowning. If he doesn't want to live with that on his conscience. Acceptance is the key to happiness. And to better you're future. Just like in this story. I listen to this at least 3 times a week.
