I'm about to make my first stencil, and this is probably the most important/informative video I've seen on the process. I really appreciate the time you've taken to demonstrate all these how-to's.

Glad I could help! I am using Duralar, which is a type of mylar. You can get 50' rolls of it on Amazon for like $30. I suggest using the stuff that is .003mm thick. And yes, it is very tear resistent. It also tends to hold its shape better (for example, if you bend it accidentally it will usually bounce right back into shape). Thank you for watching!

Thanks for the sub and the likes, I really appreciate that :) To answer your questions: 1-I do all my design in PS now. I used to hand draw some stuff, but I like the amount of detail I get using PS. 2-Yes, those are weights (loose change, actually). I do not use spray adhesive anymore. It is not necessary to get crisp lines. Good can control is far more important than spray adhesive. 3-.003mm Duralar, available on Amazon. I print my stuff off at kinkos, tape it to the duralar, then cut :)

Hey man just wanted to say thanks for this video! Really helpful. I also had a few questions if you wouldn't mind. what type of material are you using for you stencils? And to get a stencil that large are you printing to multiple sheets of paper then lining them up to cut?

Thanks for watching! Yes, I cut everything by hand. Go through lots of coffee and movies haha.

Hey man just like to say I found you out of complete luck and I adore your videos :D I have subscribed and liked many of your videos. They are truly inspiring but I have a few questions 1) Do you draw your stencils freehand or create all of them in Photoshop and print them? 2) Are those weights you're putting around the stencils? 3) What kind of paper do you use? If you buy from a website, could you post a link? Thanks so much, keep up the good work

+matamatao25 Sorry bud, just saw this. I usually just use a couple pieces of wood on the side of the canvas and put my reg marks on those. Hope that helps!

How did you print it on such a large piece of plastic? Been stuck at that step since I can only print on regular sized printer paper.
@AnthonyAspero9 жыл бұрын
+Julian Cole Thank you for watching! I print on paper and then tape the plastic to the paper, using it as my template. When I am done, I simply remove the paper. I get my large-format prints made at Fedex office for about $.75/sq ft.
