Hi Philip, I just popped in a new set o batteries in my 2nd flash and they immediately linked together, so I can confirm you only need to do the link-up once.

Thanks for the reply. If I were to leave my on camera 600EX RT Flash in Master mode all the time, would you know if that drains the batteries more...If it didn't drain more battery, I could leave in Master mode and I could quickly switch from linked to unlinked simply by turning the slave on and off...Thanks for the video...

Uptown Wedding Photography NJ You're very welcome. If you press the Z button you can quickly go from master to solo mode, so if you're worried abou battery, it's a simple fix. I think the wi-fi doesn't take much power though.

Good point...I believe that is what I'll do (what you suggest). I am considering one of the Yungnuo 600s for off camera flash (on a stand) as i won't feel as bad if it gets knocked over at a wedding or on an engagement shoot. I'll keep my two Canon 600 EXs only to mount on my two Canon DSLRs...Have you ever used one of the Yungnuos?

Hi Gurminder Bhogal, on the flash that's on top of the camera, you press the 4th button labelled Menu 1, then press the first button which shows a flash on / off icon.in order to turn it off.

HI, i'd really like to ask for your help.. I have 2 600 ex-rt, both off camera, master connected to camera via pocket wizards, master and slave connected via the radio transmission, for some reason the slave does not trigger when I take a picture, but it does trigger when I press the test button on the master... not sure I can figure this out till tomorrow.. is it because I'm using pocket wizards to trigger the master? thank you!

yeah, it's the pocket wizard lol I just tried it, when I put the master on top of the camera, they work just fine, guess I need a 3rd pocket wizard for the 2nd flash

Sorry, I don't have any pocket wizards, I only ever use my two 600 EX-RTs linked as I show in this video. I would suspect, though, that you should put a pocket wizard on each flash, and let the pocket wizard tell the slave when to fire, or if all you use are RTs, then you could get a flash trigger that uses the RT, such as the Canon or YongNuo ones.

Hi +Atiq Azi, I did a few tests, and I was able to active the high speed sync and had no issues at 1/2000 with 2 flashes connected through Wi-Fi, with no transmitters, just the 2 Canon 600 EX-RT flashes.

It is a short radio wave not those lousy WiFi. 2.4Ghz radio wave on Canon 600EX-RT series.
