How to List Antique Books on EBAY the Easy Way - How to Make an eBay Listing

In this video, I walk viewers through how they can make their first (or next) eBay listing the easy way. (Current to 2022, at least. Things change all the time, so there will be variations in the future from this.) I explain what I add to my listings, what's required, what you need to take pictures of, and a lot more stuff like that!
And, as a bit of a bonus, I explain some other things and how I ship my books.
I paid a dollar for this book and am selling for $21.99, that's a decent profit! But, if you've been following me any amount of time, you know that STILL ISN'T ENOUGH for me usually!
Side Note You can make eBay listings like the one I made in this video in as little as five minutes once you've practiced and gotten used to things! This just took so long since I was walking you all through it!

Hi....I buy lots of books on ebay, and you are right on about listing with more description and more pictures. I NEVER buy if there's only one picture. I think its just lazy, and seller doesn't deserve the sale. I really appreciate when sellers have more pics than a similar listing. Thank you for the video !!!!

I’m watching your video 6 months after you released it. I’ve always look up sold comps to get the price of an item. The way to do is after you put the name & author click the sort button and choose highest amount. Then hit filter and select sold. This will give you what’s sold in the last 3 months.

I watched your video because I too live in the Portland area, and sell books on Ebay. I don't source books for Ebay, I just sell the ones I have. Do you use a template? I like using one. It helps my listings stay uniform, and is faster because I'm a hunt and peck typer. I also use the condition description box to only describe the books condition. The item description box is where I describe characteristics about the book like the # of color photo's etc.. I also describe my shipping policy there. I do very little typing because of the template. I also like the Global Shipping Program. I sell a good percentage of my books through the GSP. No customs forms, none of that, all books are sent through Kentucky. The GSP forwards it on, no hassle. I haven't been doing this as long as you, but one of the things I have learned is to keep everything short, and I'm going back and modifying my listings to clean them up. Maybe it will help sales increase. This year is slow for me, are you doing well? Good luck

Hahaha I sell on eBay and don't source there too, it's more fun to go out and find the books than it is to shop online! :) I don't really use a template, but I try to follow a rough guideline of a one-sentence overview, a description of cover, binding, and pages, and then extra stuff if I feel it's needed. So, yeah, I address a lot of the stuff you do. I've actually begun thinking about including info on my shipping, since buyers have questions about that every now and then, so you're ahead of me there! :) I'm finally getting back into global shipping. I had some issues with it a few years ago, hence why I stopped, but it's working well for me now! I hope to add global shipping to all my listings soon-ish. This year definitely did slow down for me, but I've compensated by running some big sales on my store. I'm getting ready to move, so I want to sell everything I can before then. Between the sales and making new listings to wake up my eBay algo I'm getting more sales now. :) Happy selling! :)

I haven't ever done it, but I've heard of collectors who have. The site they recommended (if I remember right), was www.juniperbooks.com/collections/dust-jackets-only Another place that I saw was www.dustjackets.com/ And I've seen listings for them on eBay and elsewhere too. Problem is that they can be really hard to find, though. Best of luck in finding one for your books! :)

eBooks are an interesting beast to sell on eBay and there are a ton of rules. Most people don't sell them via eBay because eBay is more of a physical goods marketplace. Personally, I write and publish my eBooks on Amazon. That's where readers who want eBooks go, and it's free. Hope that helps and thanks for the comment! :)

I do not put my books in antique unless they are ar least 100 years old. Antiques is supposed to be at least 100 years old. I always list condition and any issues. I did like how you listed because it was a lot quicker.

The word "antique" is subjective. It depends on culture. My grandfather is antique. But his furniture is "50's retro. Peace on earth.
