I've literally had a gf for most of my adult life. From damn near 16 to 33... It's definetly easier to have a partner but there is something to those quiet moment's alone, you can feel yourself growing.

You people have no idea what it feels like to live ur life alone alone, no relationships but one a 9 month one... that’s it yo, and i ain’t young... it’s unreal pain

@@McRemmyBaby Yeah exactly. People having partners, phone talks and shit giving advice is completely wrong. Easy to talk when you're living a weak version of loneliness

Hey Leila, Just stumbled upon your video when I saw the title and decided to give it watch. I too work in scientific research (Molecular Biology and Biochemistry), and live alone also. It's kinda hard sometimes, but I often find solace going for walks along the bike path or just sitting somewhere and enjoy a nice green tea. Nice to meet you, and I look forward to watching more of your videos ;)

Whoa Leila, this is one of your best, most powerful posts ever! I live alone too, and don't have a gf. I couldn't agree with you more, I enjoy my free time and try to spend it well. "Enjoy your own company" is something I can definitely relate to. Finding something you enjoy is indeed the best possible advice! Honestly I hardly ever feel lonely, my main problem is not having enough free time:-) That being said, when I look around me, and see how some single friends (male and female) spend their time, they seem to be holding back. I hear them saying what they would like to do, yet somehow they can't seem to bring themselves to, be it sports, hobbies, or holidays. I couldn't tell you why as I don't have this problem, but it seems like they need somebody to take them along. From personal experience, there's 2 topics I'd like to point out: 1. Friends: Most people around me spend a lot of time with their friends (like going out on weekends) until somewhere in their 20s or 30s. At some point, you find most of your friends are in a relationship and/or have children, and the frequency you see your friends drops from 1-several times a week to mostly birthdays only. Adapting to this situation as a single can be difficult. 2. Holidays: Same situation, holidays with friends stop at some point. Some singles then don't know what to do on holidays anymore. Ofcourse there are solutions to this! Especially for the last topic, my advice is: Don't be afraid to try something new. Some people always see reasons why you shouldn't do something (for instance go on a holiday for singles only) but end up staying at home in their vacation. Give it a shot, and find out if you like something, instead of considering pros and cons.

Thank you so much! And I appreciate the extra tips in case anyone wants more! I barely have any friends so I didn't even think of those things lol 😊
