My tip is Wash and Dry up in the normal way yes using your hands with washing up liquid and yes drying off with a clean tea towel and you would not have to bother with all this non essential energy consuming lazy smelly nonsense appliance.
@JT1358
@JT1358 2 жыл бұрын
@@mrdemocracy7106 you use way more water washing by hand, and you inevitably leave a tiny amount of detergent on your items which you then ingest next time you use them. Tea-towels are also breeding grounds for bacteria, which get added to the mix if you use them more than once. Dishwashers save not only water but massive amounts of time...

'If you're going to do a job, then do it properly!' Thanks for clearly explaining how loading a dishwasher should be done for the best results. 👍 A tip I've learned over the years is to check the bottom washer arm is able to rotate freely before switching the dishwasher on. Do this by positioning the washer arm at the 12 and 6 o'clock position before pushing the bottom drawer fully in. The you can reach under the drawer and push the spinner arm round to check that nothing is poking through and stopping the water jets from washing properly. Another tip is, if you use a stainless steel teapot like we do, then putting it in the dishwasher every so often cleans off all the built up tanin stains inside and restores its original shine throughout.

Great video. My 1st tip: put the machine cicle on before you go to bed or programme it, so it starts late to allow for complete dryness of items inside. Some times if you open the machine too soon (even after all the lights are turned off), some of the items will still be damp. 2sd tip: I normally put sauce pans a little tipped over with the handles not up and down but horizontally so that they don't fill with water, and the pans get cleaner. 3rd tip: once a month, or when required, do a cicle with proper cleanning fluid, machine completely empty. It will prevent accumulation of lime (CaCO3) and the machine will smell fresh. 4th tip: you can wash your (gas stove) pan supporters, or grates, putting them inside the dishwasher upside down on the top rack.
@albertocabral
@albertocabral 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot for the tutorial. You can always use salt and rinse aid separately with all-in-one tablets. Long-handled cutlery can be safely placed across the top rack. Detergent dissolves better with soiled dishes, so don't rinse before dishwashing. With the help of a used paper napkin clean the solid food remains. Now and again, check the arms holes. Unscrew them and with a toothpick remove any obstruction. Always unload the bottom rack first so it won't get any dripping when you unload the top rack . Clean the outer insides of the door as they tend to accumulate soil. Rinse aid dries the door rubber seals. To prevent it, put some washing up liquid on a sponge and moisten them once a month.

My useful tip : make a habit of removing the filter EVERY time after you run the dishwasher and wash it. It doesn't take long for the filter to grow black mold when the door is closed. And keep the door propped open a bit with help too. Just like the washing machine.

Great vid as usual thank you. My tip is, when you load the top drawer, make sure there's nothing with a handle that could end up falling through and stopping the arm from rotating. We often lay utensils that are too tall for the basket along the top shelf and l always tuck them so the water pressure won't make them fall through a gap. Also, our cutlery basket has an optional grated lid, like the one you showed and, we leave one side shut for cutlery and the other open for things with fatter handles, like peelers or serving spoons etc. It's also a great place for jar lids.

One thing I realised early on,mis that you have to remove things like rice, seeds etc as they can get into the spinning arms- I’ve spent many frustrating hours trying to remove them from the holes when I’ve realised things weren’t washing properly, as water wasn’t coming out of parts of the arms.

TOP TIP : My dishwasher had an error code, that meant something like "Heating Element Fault". It occurred when I had run the machine, and unexpectedly the water supply to the building was interrupted ( so presumably there wasn't water, and the heating element became too hot ). The Service Engineer said, "First know that there is a reset function". So he did the reset function ( pushing two of the control buttons together. The machine beeped, and then was normal. "So you don't need a new heating element. Just be aware that you can reset the machine, and then try it again. Usually this works". So that saved me buying a new heating element and getting it installed when I didn't need to.

Brilliant explanation. You just reminded me to check the filter, which is really useful for me. I would also recommend to use the time delay function. Not only because the energy is cheaper during the night, but also because it is better for the environment to avoid the peak hours when everybody wants to use energy. You don't need your dishwasher to have internet for that. A simple timer function works fine. A lot of the machines have it, just get into the settings it shouldn't be hard to find. And the other advantage is the noise will probably not bother you when you are asleep and away in your bedroom.

Loved this video! I can help with two tips I have learned. Always put a squirt of liquid dish detergent in the smaller detergent door. This section is for the prewash. If you do that your dishes will come out much cleaner because when the long clean cycle starts the prewash has pretty much gotten the large bits off AND loosened up the tough stuff like egg yoke. Most people just put cleaner and in the big side…. My #2 tip is I try to always load something short in the very front lower basket or section closest to the detergent doors. I learned the hard way if I put a tall item like a plate or cutting board here it can prevent my detergent doors from opening fully. Back when I used to use the pods, I would sometimes have half dissolved packets stuck inside the detergent holder. Just like sometimes we unintentionally block the sprayer, we can also block the detergent door. 👍

For constant high performance: wipe plates/dishes with kitchen towel before putting in, don't rinse; remove and rinse the filter after EVERY wash (or at least every other wash), it only takes a minute; and for safety if you have a cutlery basket down below, put knives in point down, too many accidents with knives sticking upwards. And yes, never use those tablets. My Miele has a dosing container that dispenses so little powder you wonder how it works, but it does. Though I do live in a very soft water area. And ignore what the makers of those anodized aluminium pans say about "dishwasher safe", you'll halve their lifespan if you put them in a dishwasher. I learned this the hard way.

But more importantly, it’s been a long standing argument in my family -which way to load the silverware. I always believe that they should be tines side down, to help maintain sanitation when unloading (do not have to touch any parts that enter mouth) But now after watching this video and learning about the manufacture flip lids that are clearly designed to be used the opposite direction I think I may have to admit I was wrong. Again thank you so much for creating these videos, I’ve already watch quite a few from this channel ♥️

We had a new dishwasher when we had our new kitchen installed a few years back. We put our breakfast bowls in the lower rack together with our dinner plates, which means there is no room for our pots and pans so we simply put them on the top rack together with the cups. We use the machine every five days, by which time it is fairly full. Maybe I should try doing as you suggested and put the pots and pans down below and put the breakfast bowls on the upper rack, although I am not sure if the upper rack is designed to take bowls...👍 Thanks for the suggestions, very interesting and has given me room for thought.

Yes the presenters voice is very soothing it puts me to sleep haha. I have a bosch dishwasher it loads in a similar way, i have used the large item spray head a few times when cleaning out the even and fridge shelves and salad bin straight in the dishwasher. i can literally clean out the fridge in about 10 minutes (of course waiting for the contents of the dishwasher. Mine has a knife rack in the top left and adjustable rack at the bottom. I dont bother adjusting the rack height in the top basket. I always use salt but sometimes skip the rinse aid every so often O wash all kinds of things in the dishwasher, if its washable it goes in the dishwasher. i have been known to wash parts of the interior of the car (ash trays and removable trays), bathroom sets (soap dish, toothbrush holder, cups) and plastic shelves. They save a lot of time. I dont really maintain the dishwasher as such, I just put the pots in and turn it on and its been this way for years. I didnt bother with an extended gurantee since I bought a Bosch and in my experience i knew it wouldnt break down so i didnt bother. I use cheap aldi dishwasher tablets and salt/rinse aid. if its cheap and made of plastic/glass/pottery then it goes in the dishwasher. This includes: cheap ornaments (!), plastic trolley shelves (large item spray head), removable plastic parts of the car (ash trays etc.), plastic bathroom accessories (soap dish, toothbrush holder). If you are happy taking a risk (and saving a lot of time) then put it in the dishwasher. this is NOT recommended but I havent experienced any issues thus far. i have cleand out my oven shelves using the large item spray head in about 10 minutes simply using the self clean on the oven and large item spray head on the shelves. Yes im incredibly lazy but you decide is it worth putting stuff in the dishwasher or spending hours cleaning scrubbing or polishing take your choice :)

The unit you are demonstrating has this shelf on the right middle tray. According to Bosch ( Bosch 300 series) it’s to hold wine glasses. I guess you can use for longer knives but quality knives always recommend hand washing. Thank you for your video and valuable information.

That's correct it can be used to put wine glasses up against as well.

I also use this section for plastic containers. When they fit securely under the stem holder, they don't flip over during the wash cycle and fill with water!

thanks for useful guidance, and as you said we all do silly thing by pushing few extra plates that normally doesn't fit. But my concern is the utensils (spoons and forks) should always be placed up side down that handles are sticking up for hygienic purposes. It is important that while emptiing utensils you don't touch by your hands the part that goes into mouth.

I have sliding tines in the lower rack of my dishwasher. It's great because I have a number of pasta bowl/plates. Essentially plates with rimmed sides, making them a little wider than regular plates. This makes the sliding tines a great feature
