I’m a 57 year-old male. I’ve lost 48 pounds in the past 7 months by doing 12:12 intermittent fasting, caloric deficit, strength training, and cardio. Most of the belly fat is gone, but now I have that ugly loose skin covering my stomach. Is there any way I can tighten that skin? I know that with my age, my skin is less elastic than my younger years. Just curious.

I actually had the same issue doing 16x6 fasting now I OMAD walk 1 hour a day but used to do 500 leg lifts. I replaced the leg lifts with a 7 minute Just fit workout a day laying in the bed and do 25 squats holding a 20lb weight and all my skin tighten up after 6 months. I’m a 68 year old woman loving my body after losing 35lbs. I look and feel better than before I started having babies. I also no longer have to take blood pressure or cholesterol meds. By the way I do follow the keto diet and don’t count calories I eat until I’m full starting at 3pm and eat again the next day at the same time. Salmon, ground beef or chicken thighs. Asparagus or spinach drink only water and a green tea mixture of fresh cut up ginger 2- tablespoons of apple cider 1/2 a lemon mixed in 64oz of water with 1 green tea bag sip on that all day long which I make at the end of the night and place in the fridge for the next day. I don’t snack at all but some weekend mornings I will have a black coffee around 10am. I 100% stay away from sugar and flour and starch. I forgot I do take vitamin C and G daily and Hike on Saturdays. I used to drink wine when I was hanging with my friends now I hang out with people from my gym and do healthy things when I’m bored like swimming, hiking or I just take an extra walk a friend or by myself.

@billh4285 I am 65 and have similar info as you. Last year I dropped from 248 pounds to 171 pounds by Thanksgiving. I got sick right after Thanksgiving for 2 weeks and did not do my typical exercises, cardio, etc. I got sick again in mid-January, same kind of thing. By end of January I went back up to 187 pounds (besides being sick 2x and not doing hardly any walking, exercising, etc, I was eating a lot of the Holiday crap foods). So, I got really upset with myself and started eating better again, walking (I usually get 6-10 mile brisk walks 5-6 days a week), exercising and resistance training. I walked my butt off in February and March and begin of April and I just could not lose that weight I gained back. I couldn’t even get back to 180 pounds. I purchased a rebounder (mini-trampoline), (I got a JumpSport 350 Pro, 39 inch model) and in the past 2 weeks I have had it and (started slow and only 5 minutes to get used to balancing and slowly increasing time and aggressiveness, I am doing maybe 15 or 20 minutes on it each day 6 days a week). It has been what I needed to push me to where I am making progress again (I am still doing my brisk walks 6-10 miles and exercising and resistance training also), I am trying to increase my protein a little more also. I have been making improvements now where I am back down to 176-178 pounds with a little more muscle. So I am once again making forward progress. I still have a bunch of lower belly fat and some fat on sides of my man boobs to get rid of yet, so I still have a ways to go. The lower belly fat drives me crazy. I know it takes a long time as we should normally only lose 1-2 pounds per week (roughly if all goes well). So, it is a long process to get 15-20 more pounds of fat off. I am glad to be making forward progress again after 2.5 months of being stuck. The rebounding is supposed to be easier on our joints and I have arthritis giving me knee, spine and big toe pain. I have had 3 back surgeries. I had a couple of heart catheterizations and heart stents put in (2 years ago now) that really got me going to lose the fat and get healthier. So I am trying to eat much healthier, number 1 and exercise regularly. I had a sedentary job as a software developer for 33 years and much of that time was long 12-16 hour days at the computer including weekends, so I didn’t have time to make friends much or get out and do things, I also ate a terrible diet, and I suffered the consequences. Anyway, for me, the rebounding has helped push me forward and I am grateful as I was going crazy with being stuck for 2.5 months. Good luck in whatever you can do to help you make progress. You probably need to still make some adjustment to your diet first and foremost to cut a few more calories, then try increasing weight or add something like rebounding or whatever to help get you out of the rut. Best wishes to you and anyone else facing similar problem.

Best way to lose belly fat as a man. Take in no more than 1800 calories of healthy food per day. Workout at least 4 to 5 days a week. Do 30 minutes of weight training followed by 30 minutes of walking on the treadmill. Be consistent do not skip workouts or cheat on your calories. When I say take in 1800 calories just know if you do 30 minutes of weight training an 30 minutes on the treadmill you lose about 400 calories. This means you can eat 2200 calories per day. After 90 days or more you will be satisfied with the results!

I started carnivore diet in January. At the end of May I did a 3 day fast Final result was a 30# loss. I did not incorporate any exercise, although I have a hard manual labor job. Also, I admittedly enjoy too many bourbon and cokes. Now that the fat composition is reduced the existing musculature is much more noticeable so im adding home resistance training (kettlebells/sandbags/rucksacks). My wife started commenting recently that im looking too skinny, but I think she just prefers to be the hot one🤣

Why is it that weight loss for men is almost always shown in a gym with weights. Weight loss comes only from eating right. Sure exercise increases calorie burn, but at a minor level if you and others are honest. Our major losses will come from avoiding all processed foods. Food for weight loss, exercise for the strength because strength is fitness. No need for costly meal plans and programs, just eat real foods, and that is eliminating completely both processed and genetically modified grains, fruits and veg.
