I love your videos. I turn 40 next year and I’m finding it a lot harder to lose weight than I did when I was younger. Even dropping weight after having children was easy compared to now! I have binge watched a whole heap of your videos and I’m now feeling very inspired!!! Thank you!!!!❤️

I did the intermittant fasting, tried everything from 14 hrs to 24 for years. At first it worked, But lately it indeed got me binging like crazy when I could eat. I am back to smaller meals throughout the day like I used to ( 20 years ago that was the way to loose weight in fitness). Great tips, not really new, but great to have them summed up ☺️
@MelissaNeill4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jospepha thats interesting you found a similar experience with intermittent fasting. I have done a lot of research and the evidence is inconclusive for women over 40. Personally I have 5/6 meals a day more effective for fat loss. I think its whatever works for you.

Thanks for sharing. Great tips!. I have been doing keto for eight years. I am in a maintenance phase. I like the mental clarity, high energy, metabolic homeostasis, optimal lipids, reduced inflammation and appetite suppressant attributes. I also do 18:6 intermittent fasting daily. I have two well balanced meals daily over six hours. I avoid fruit (except berries), starches, grains, sugar, soy, refined carbs and processed foods. I have a list of healthy whole food staples but I will divert occasionally. I do a combination resistance training, crossfit and HIIT cardio throughout the week. I keep it simple so I do not have to over think it due to my busy schedule. Keep sharing and talking. Cheers!

Excellent information, thank you! Yesterday I went for a 25 min walk and it was awesome. I have always been an active/athletic person and when I was struck with fibromyalgia, it turned my world upside-down. As a result, I lost a lot of muscle and mobility. Upon learning on my own how to manage it (the doctors were useless) through diet and therapy, I was able to put it into remission and was able to return to cycling and climbing mesas. This took two years. Stress and mental health (for me PTSD) are my adversaries and so I make it a point to be as kind to myself as possible. So where am I going with this? I am 30lbs overweight. I realize that for some this is not a big deal. But coming from a place (born and partially raised) called Los Angeles (specifically Venice/Santa Monica), it's difficult especially when I have always been between 100 and 105lbs at 5'0", very lean. This channel is allowing me to be okay with what has happened and that I do have some control over my fitness/wellbeing. This episode let me know that on days when my fibromyalgia is triggered, and exercise is not possible, I have tools to pull from. I have a small homemade gym which presently consists of a rowing machine that I received as a gift and adjustable dumbells. Tomorrow the plan is to begin weight training. I love and believe in this channel and its purpose. Thanks, Melissa. Cheers everyone!

Thank you Melissa... and to my bestie for pointing me to you.Your points gave me and my hubby a structure to follow during the pandemic. Even though I was ill during most of the time, I was able to stick to these tips. When I was feeling well, I was able to add exercise. I have lost 12 kilos following these tips and doing no exercise to light exercise. Some tweaks I made: My portion size and eating mindfully included using a Buddha bowl idea in combination with making a rule that no negative talk at the table. Also, the intermittent fasting I did at 12 hours fasting and then sometimes to 16 hours only at 1-2x a week. Even with these changes, I was still able to lose weight. Thank you Melissa and thank you my bestie!

Ridiculous gyms are closed but donut shops and fast food WIIIIDE open. SMH
@calisongbird3 жыл бұрын
It’s not THAT ridiculous… for one thing, many food places offer takeout and delivery options. I personally have not set foot inside a restaurant since the pandemic started. It’s been either home cooking or delivery. Also, in a gym, people are all in a closed environment with typically subpar ventilation, breathing hard. That’s a perfect recipe for contagion, especially with the highly contagious Omicron variant. I know someone who was super careful with lockdown, masking, and distancing, and did not get COVID until he returned to the gym. Then he immediately contracted it, and had a very rough experience. I’ve invested in very basic home equipment. You don’t need a lot to get a great workout in.

Hi Melissa, New Subbie here, pleased to meet you😊 You sound like a Londoner like me (lol). I am 50 with borderline hypothyroidism, i really want to lose weight (7 stones would bring me to ideal weight according to my BMI) but finding it hard. Do you have any ideas for how to make exercising fun? I think that would make a big difference to me because I can't motivate myself to be consistent because I don't enjoy it. One thing I've thinking about is go on an adventure to find the best free exercise parks in London (you know the ones with the free outdoor exercise machines), maybe you can do a video on that? Just an idea... Love your videos😍, stay blessed, One love❤

@MelissaNeill4 жыл бұрын
Hi Gloria - there is more than one of you - this is a common problem - I there are no real alternatives to squats and lunges apart from machines in the gym like leg press, quad extensions, and leg curl machines. I explain in this video how you can work towards doing a squat if you have problems with your knees kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqXVdqmEZqqYobc

I guess you can also drink herbal tea with no sugar, if water is too plain for you. Or like Melissa does... squeeze lime/lemon in warm water and drink first thing in the morning.
