** NOTE: The sound dampener may look different on the different vehicles and years. For example, the Blackwing has 3 plates that need to be removed. The Escalade V has 5 plates. **

Going to try my Blackwing this week. I wonder if the 3 plates are for even more sound dampening since it’s a Cadillac

@CarGuysRule82 that is exactly why. They have different standards for NVH testing and that helps bring the noise down. For example, you’ll get a nicer, quieter ride out of the Buick version of a Chevrolet SUV, and even quieter/nicer in the Cadillac.

Do you know if the CT5V BW lid will fit the ZL1? Pictures online at the parts warehouses make it look like it. I pulled my factory lid off today and noticed that one of the center posts where the bolts thread into was chipped almost to the gasket. Doubt I could get it warrantied and the BW version is much cheaper. EDIT: after searching the forums, it looks like the BW lid isn't as tall as the ZL1's . . .?

@triggerjerk01 it’s the opposite of what you found. The Blackwing lid will bolt up, however it IS taller to allow more cooling of the air. Not sure how that would affect any clearance issues on the hood, or if you have a strut tower brace, if it would clear, or how that would affect the factory engine tune, but it will bolt right up.

Do you know if removal of this damper helps with heat soak?

There is nothing to suggest that the damper retains much heat, or that removing it will improve internal temps. I would say “no” to your question.

I broke one of the double sided bolts by any chance do you know where I can get one from

I keep looking, but keep coming up with a discontinued part number. I’ll see what I can find. Just so we are on the same page, you are talking about the bolts that the harnesses slide onto to be held in place, correct?

Do you have a catch can ? And are you going to install one ? I think it's a must .I have one on my zr2 Silverado 6.2 and it catches a lot of blow by oil it will surprise you .

The evap and factory catch is working as designed. It’s a non-issue. This car is also tracked hard and most catch-can manufacturers won’t tell you that they are NOT recommended when running the car hard like that.
