Thanks Alec, huge fan here. I've primarily been a chainsaw carver, but I frequently use gouges also. Nice to see how a pro maintains his carving tools

Well I usually.strop after done carving for the day, spend 45 minutes cleaning and stropping all knives I used. That way always starts with a sharp knife! Thanks and take care

Alec, just recently started carving and for the life of me I can't seem to get my detail knives sharp. I have been a hand tool woodworker and have had decent success sharpening plane blades but not knives, any suggestions for me without power tools, ie, Work Sharp 3000 or grinder. WS3000 has been discontinued.

Hey Alec, how can I turn on Turkish subtitles? Although there are many languages in automatic translation, Turkish is not available.

Could you consider doing a video on how to deal with knots the best way???

The Worksharp has been discontinued. I just bought one. Get one while you can. It doesn't have an equal and there are no plans from Worksharp to replace it.
