I made a 1000 last week. I hate DD so I try and only get 50 a day from them. The rest comes from GH. GH is so much better than DD. GH had a glitch and sent 4 cancelled orders to a store. Another driver and I showed up. GH paid us both 15 dollars and I got a free Chinese dinner. I went to Chick Fil A twice in 20 minutes for the same customer. Both times the order wasn’t there. DD wouldn’t even compensate me. F DD.

Advice I can give a new dasher. Keep good karma, example, I had a delivery for baby items, showed up to delivery and the lady said she forgot to change the address, she wanted it to go across town to her house, after a minute figuring out I could pause after delivering my stacked 2nd stop, I told her sure I can swing it over there in 20 minutes, she handed me a extra 20, I told her nah it’s all good but she insisted, so I ended up making 25 on that order.
@Carno-JАй бұрын
Karma is not a thing. I've done over 4000+ deliveries. You got a 5% chance of the customer actually giving you extra money for going the extra 10+ miles across town for them. 95% of the time, they will take the food with a smile, maybe say thanks, and go back inside without another word. You will only be taken advantage of for your kindness. You're here to make money. Save yourself gas, time, and money. Keep your charity for family and friends.

Definitely have to work at least 40-50 hrs a week if you're in a small-medium markets. 30-40 hrs a week In large markets. You'll drive 700-1000+ miles per week. You'll most likely average between $18-25 per hour roughly.
@DmitriOceanАй бұрын
Greetings from Northern New Jersey. Two years ago I was making 150-200 in 6-7 hours without breaking a sweat driving $3+ per mile orders on UE along. Back then couriers were eligible for quests and surge pay. It was easy 150-200 per week in quest money along. DD was good back then as well. Not anymore. The sheer volume of absolute garbage orders is astonishing. Now I can seat for an hour or more and decline offers that are coming every few seconds. ... I do eBay reselling and driving in between sourcing, shipping and listing was working great until recent. These apps will continue to squeeze their drivers. Now that UE is going all about AR making driving for them doesn't make any sense. Even though this change didn't hit NJ yet, but I noticed decline in the amount of decent offers I get. It looks like UE has begun a soft conditioning of the markets that are not yet affected by their new program.

I just started Uber Eats a few months ago and I really think I understand my area. Weekdays and weekends too. Because I have a family I really try to do weekends bc I make most of my $. I can’t do the evening dinner shifts for multiple reasons so I’m left with weekday lunch and weekend breakfast/lunch/early dinner. The past two days I got a $30 tip on two different orders. One was high mileage but she didn’t know I was driving from out of her area until I texted her. Also the other was a 40 min order/wait time and I was texting her I’m waiting it’s not done yet then she asked if I could ask them to add this….so, communication is key to also getting extra tips tacked on bc they may not be used to deliver drivers being that way.

Nahhhh. I only do GH/DD and made a 1000 last week. I only work a total of 5 or 6 hours and I don’t sit in a parking lot. I go home and chill. I schedule myself between 11a and 9pm, but only out for about 6 hours total.
@Carno-JАй бұрын
It completely depends on the area, but yeah, I agree with you. It used to be doable with minimal effort, but now you have everyone and their mother using these apps. So not enough orders to go around to make a $1000 a week. Unless you want to drive 12+ hours 6 days a week.

The issue is apps like these are one of the 1st things people cut back on when they are trying to save money. Add the fact that most people don't have alot of money to begin with and you have way less orders. I always tip well when I get doordash but in my market it's oversaturated with drivers so there aren't enough orders to go around

Takes me around 36 hrs in the phoenix market, to clear 1k. A lot of people don't know what orders to take, nor, are many willing to learn different markets. I play mmorpgs, so, I treat gig apps the same. Phoenix is massive, so trying to make 200 a day in under 8 hrs and a10 mile radius is crazy. But I cherry pick house orders, or tax people who live in apartments more for me going there. The customer doesn't know I'm only going to an apt if its 10+ bucks, but those drop offs are annoying in general. House I'll go down to 5 Bucks especially if its a quick store. I've never had a summer slow down or jan slow down. People always tip, always, just, adjust how you see who you're delivering too and where you're picking up from. Helps to have a spreadsheet of fast/slow stores, good/bad customers, good/bad apartment dropoffs. Google lets you save gate codes, so I have gate codes in a 30 ish mile radius. If the system is gamified, then game the system. If you want to drive for a living create a system that lets you do that. Proper prior planning prevents poor performance.
@TRANSPORTKING1988Ай бұрын
In Kansas City you will never make $1,000 a week no matter what strategy you use, it's an oversaturated market and you have to book 5 to 6 days in advance just to get decent hours, since the tier program the best I've ever been able to do in one week was $800 with 70 hours of on duty time

New to this. I took a scheduled Walmart pick up at a certain time. They require me to be online 30 min before hand. I also want my acceptance rate to be high. Well the offer they sent caused me to miss my scheduled pick up. They canceled it for me. Later I did the same (a scheduled pick up). This time I declined more than 10 offers waiting at Walmart for my scheduled pick up. Seems I’m screwed either way.
@jasonhardin8383Ай бұрын
It's difficult to have your acceptance rate high with spark. With how constant they resend out the same order over and over, that none of the drivers are taking, your acceptance rate tanks. Spark does not have a minimum required acceptance rate. But you do have to deal with them sending you $7 order for a 12-mile drive over and over.

Customer claiming non-receipt too many times. Text the customer on the approach before arrival that DD needs them to provide the PIN # BEFORE you can hand off the food to them. Upon arrival ask for PIN prior to handing over order.

With uber eats the trips (margin) are different than last year. You could make more and drive less but now they are making you drive farther to get a decent margin. For instance they will do 18mi for $17’ish..i do see a difference from last yr to this yr..some orders are ridiculous like 15mi for $4.00. So i have to rethink my strategy do I miss long drive time for maybe $1 per mile or do I take them to make some money?

Remember Mike, all of these tips of your won’t work If and only if The apps don’t show you anything (all hours of the day, Monday -Thursday, etc) And that’s what they are doing. And if there are low orders 2-3 orders an hour and very low pay with high mileage Then $1000 a week isn’t possible. A 12 hour shift in 2023 worked, not in 2024

I guess I wanna know how many hours per day. Are you talking working bad to make that $1000 a week? How many days during the week are you working as well? What days are the primary days you work? I see what you're saying most of the time. But if I have to mill through orders, To say take the ones that will pay me x amount. Better for my time, but it eats up thirty Minutes of every hour. You simply can't count it like that, that's irresponsible. You have to log the entire mode of time that you're there Out there working because you are out there. Whether or not you're waiting and just taking the choice orders. You're out there working it. That time is either empty or full.
