Thank you. We’ve been doing this for a while, it works really well. Typically we just make the niche about 1/4”-1/2” bigger so we only need to band. No need for more Kerdi Board.

I noticed you didn't use any Kerdi-Fix on the edges of the Kerdi Board, - I guess if it's covered with kerdi banding, it's not required.

Kerdi Band with a 2” overlap is all that is needed to make a watertight seal. Nice detail to notice, thank you for the comment I really appreciate it.

Schluter makes a very versatile product. There’s a lot of little tricks like this that make it great to work with.
