Hello Glenn and a big thumbs up. Absolutely enjoyed your tutorial which is very informative. Love how you simplified your techniques to achieve such amazing results. The way you effortlessly built those tarps and the use of oil paints and pastel pigments to tie everything together really showcases your skill. Also, very much appreciated your tip in how to paint the wheels with the black wash. The diorama really is a canvas of colours blending the Honey with those figures and the debri into a very effective North African desert scene. Thank you for inspiring us with your expertise and best wishes and Buon Natale from your neighbours up North in Canada.

Hi Glenn. I've been a fan of Your work for a long time. I like that you make Your models without imitating anyone, with Your own style.

Thank you so much! Yes, I try to be my own style because I’ve been doing it for a long time :-)

When you attached the tank to the base before painting I was sceptical but, I learned something there as it turned out fantastic!

As @rickmoreno6858, I cant do the physical things I used to... so decided after 51 years, to retry scale modelling. Wow! what a world of difference since I was 15, getting plastic parts stuck to my fingers and using Airfix enamel paints only. I got the same M3 (from the Tank Museum in Bovington UK) and you easily demonstrated the look I want as I was in the desert in 90/91, and saw first hand what armoured vehicles look like after just a few weeks. This tutorial video has made me very nervous... but I'm gonna enjoy trying! A must have I noticed, was the magnifying lenses you used - I am 66 after all....

Wow one of the best tutorial videos I’ve watched. A question i do gave is how do you ensure that the pastels you apply on the ground work and tank don’t come off over time.
@ArmorModelsbyGlennBartolotti Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your kind words. As far as the pastels they’re kind of on there they really don’t come off. I rub them in pretty good so to get them off would be very difficult. I don’t think too many people handle their models so you’re safe that way I’ve had them for a long time and they still look the same. I hope that answers your question if not, let me know.

Very nice. Good looking. After you put pigments on the tank, did you spray matt varnish on it. If yes, no problem with the pigments? Thank a lot for answer. 👌👍

Been reading "Brazen Chariots?" If not, you should. By Robert Crisp, a tank officer who fought Rommel in a 'Honey'.

Glenn i dont know of your work. As i was out of the hobby for more than 30 yrs. You truly are an artist! Your work inspires me. To continue to grow, and learn! Is their a site where i can view All your work? It would be a dream to become a professional modler. As i get older climbing trees becomes harder and harder, time has caught up to me. Got back in to the hobby 4 years ago, as my wife and kids noticed me watching moddlers on the tube of you. Well they got me an airbrush and compressor for a fathers day gift, and well i was off and running back in to the hobby.

Wow, those are some kind words. I really appreciate you taking the time to tell me that. I’m retired now and I started really getting serious probably in the 80s when I had published a bunch of my work in find scale modeler magazine. You can view this work and some other work. I’ve done on my website which is posted in my info. I’m 64 years old now and I don’t climb trees either but I do have another KZbin channel in which I’m outdoors a lot studying rare animals in Florida. Have a great holiday!
