@amandasalley7173 жыл бұрын
Also did she put a layer of clear between the sand and water and did she let the colors cure before doing the top coat?
@SummerGirlDesigns3 жыл бұрын
Yes we usually put clear resin between the sand and the blue pigment so that the blue doesn’t seep into the sand, and we wait about a day for each layer to dry before doing another layer 😊
@amandasalley7173 жыл бұрын
@@SummerGirlDesigns sorry one last question. You said you waited a day between each layer but it shows the blues being somewhat mixed together. So did you do the blues all at once?

Hi...i have few questions... 1. Were u able to place the tray handle well?...any tips for making the handle placed aligned accurately? 2. Also, what was the purpose of pouring the clear as second layer...was it to seal the 1st layer or to make waves 3. What is the purpose of heat resistant?...does it help with the durability of the tray? 4. Lastly, the silicone mold looked thin..how did u achieve to do 3 layers?...did u count the resin volume needed per layer?? Thanks a lot!
@SummerGirlDesigns3 жыл бұрын
Hi! 1. Yes it’s usually not a problem. You can eye it, but if you want to be sure then after you place in your handles you can use a measuring stick to make sure that they are aligned 2. The second clear layer was so that we could add in the white pigment for the waves, and blow them out with the heat gun without it getting mixed into the blue pigment 3. The heat resistant resin is to protect the tray from hot cups and glasses, otherwise hot cups may leave marks on the tray 4. For beach trays we usually do two layers in the mold, and we add the heat resistant top coat out of the mold. In my newer videos I show this in more detail, and even have a video explaining how we add the top coat. Hope this helps!

This is amazing! I'm getting into resin and I've only learned about the uv method. How is she curing the resin in between pours? I know the heat gun is for the bubbles but is it also curing or do you leave it before pouring the next layer? How long did the project take to completely dry? Oh, and what was the heat resistant top coat she used? LOL I have so many questions.
@SummerGirlDesigns3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! We use a two part resin and we wait 24 hours for it to cure before pouring another layer. We do a total of 3 pours on beach trays (the initial beach scene, a clear coat with the white pigment to do the waves, and then a heat resistant topcoat) in total it takes about 3 days for it to be done, and the resin is completely dry in 24 hours. We use the heat resistant resin by dipon de 😊
