A couple of people have mentioned yes when measuring the cage you will want to measure the very bottom, when I was demonstrating the measuring I already knew my bin was going to be too small so I forgot to show measuring at the very bottom.

One don't has to clean a hamster cage very often. They need their smell to feel protected. I only clean the areas where my hamster pees the most
@mahiro34096 жыл бұрын
It will only stress the hamster too when cleaning it too often. Do you clean out their house? Because you shouldn't do that either. Also bin cages imo are too small, the biggest bin cage size doesn't even meet the requirements in my country (80x45x40 was the biggest I could find). My country is in Germany and if the requirements are different: Germany attaches importance about animals well being so the requirements might be stricter here. It's always better when the sizes are bigger I work with centimetres and the minimum size here should be 100x50x50 (length, width, height) and not a single centimetre smaller! If you want to make your hamster happy you should consider that. My cage is 120x60x50(I have an aquarium because they're better than bin cages. you can even observe your hamster crystal clear) Don't EVER look at the price but only to the well being of the animal that'll live there for it's entirely life. Your hamster will be thanksful. A small cage is never better than a big cage.
@ella-zp1br5 жыл бұрын
Mahiro she never said how big her cage was, in the US we have very big bins you can buy! I also love bin cages, I have used them for all 6 of the hamsters I have! She also never said how often she cleans it 😂

I seriously want to make a comment about doing research before getting a pet of any kind, especially one you have never had before. 3 nights ago, I said to my family that I wanted to get a hamster. I looked at cages online on petsmart and it was the Kaytee style ones and I didnt realize how big they were. I wanted to go the next day and get everything all at once and have it set up for the hamster before i went to work. I watched videos and started doing research that night and have been ever since. My plans completely changed and I have been looking around at different stores for different things before getting the hamster. I now understand that they would need a bigger cage obviously and that its ideal to have the cage set up before you get the hamster so that they have to wait less time in their carrier. Research is important because I almost wasted a lot of money with a small cage, incorrect bedding and food and possibly a breed of hamster that I might not have wanted as much

I had to come back to this video and say thank you. I got my first hamster, and first pet, two years ago. She was a robo hamster, and her name was Missy. I watched some of your videos before getting her, so by the time I got her I already knew what things to avoid, and how to properly take care of her. I remember telling my family, who were pretty excited about my baby girl, to give her some space to let her get used to her cage. I learned from you that hamsters get stressed easily, and that I needed to have patience. The two years that I spent with her were full of love, respect, and happiness. Sadly, she passed away a few days ago. So while watching some of her old videos, I decided to come back to where everything started: your videos. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. I’m not sure if I’ll ever get a hamster again, since I’m still grieving, however if I do, I’ll make sure to come back here :’) God bless

Thank you for this video! It helped me a lot! I have just finished making two seperate bin cages for my Robo dwarf hamster and Syrian hamster with some natural toys and hideouts. They are much happier now :) I have had 7 hamsters before, and had two Favola Hamster cages, but I did not think they were big enough, before that, (a few years ago) I had a crittertrail and a tiny tales cage, my dad thought the crittertrail was fine and the only reason why he disliked the Tiny Tales was because it was hard to clean. My mom thought the tiny tales was fun for the hamster. I don't think my parents understand that a big bin for 20-30 dollars is much happier for the hamster then a $50 crittertrail or an $150 Tiny Tales cage. A waste of money. 😕 I hope more people can understand that a hamster is a living thing and has feelings and emotions too!

Once I get the correct bin cage and wheel and other things that I need for a hamster then I will get a hamster again. It feel empty when you don't have a hamster in the house. Thanks for all of your advice. You taught me things that I didn't know. I wish I had your advice when I was child. There are things I would do different. I have hamster since I was child. Like whey they chew on the bars (cage is too small) and why they stop running in the wheel (wheel is too small) and hamster ball (they are dangerous). Thank you for showing me what I did wrong. When my hamster is in a big cage then he sleeps in corners and doesn’t come out at all but when he’s in a small cage that we got him when he was small he is happy idk what to do ?
@VictoriaRaechel5 жыл бұрын
Well hamster's are nocturnal/crepuscular so they should be sleeping during the day. It also may not have enough hideouts/toys to fill the cage.

I have a HUGE BIN CAGE!!!! I GOT THE IDEA OF A BIN CAGE FROM UR CHANNEL THANKS MY HAMSTER LOVES IT!!!!
@jenniferbaez17254 жыл бұрын
I made a bin cage for the first time. It took about 2 hours and it turned out well. This is a great alternative for people who already have the tools. The bin was about $20, but then I bought a Dremel $49, Mesh wire $10, and wire cutter $10. Thankfully I already had a drill tool, tape, and zip ties. I paid $90 +. It’s about the same price for a Prevue 528. However, if you will be making multiple bin cages, then in the long run it does come out cheaper.

Thank you so much for all the awesome videos. You're really helping me because I'm getting a hamster on January and this is a great cheap cage idea! All those tiny hamster cages are so expensive and they're not even good for the hamster! So again, thank you for this tutorial. Your are greatly appreciated!

I just stumbled across your channel as I am getting a hamster very soon to fill in the gap of my guinea pig that passed away not long ago, I've had a cage that I now know was terrible for the two hamsters I had in the past (separate timelines,) so I will definitely be making this, thank you so much! Great video

HELP I JUST CANT TAME MY HAMSTER. Whenever i put my hand in his cage he bites but when i touch him he's okay with that...I am a first time hamster owner and my i am just too scared to hold him....I SERIOUSLY NEED HELP!!!!
@niamhvictoria35726 жыл бұрын
Manva Wali it’s depends how long you had him. Take it slow Erin’s animals has a great taming video. Start by putting you hand with treats in on the time on the other side of the cage and don’t move and wait until he gets too curious and comes over. Be patient and don’t get annoyed at him
@VictoriaRaechel6 жыл бұрын
I have a taming video which is the process that I use for all my hamsters and I would recommend watching it, Your hamster may be biting because they are curious and don't understand why a foreign object is just coming into it's cage. You may want to transport your hamster using a cup or carrier to a playpen or a dry bathtub so you can practice getting them used to interaction.
