I stumbled across your channel and specifically your budget videos after I combed through my finances from the past 5 months and I was disgusted with how much I wasted in Target alone!! However, it was such a necessary step b/c I am moving into my first apartment this coming summer and I could use all the help I can get. I decided to try out your method of budgeting to see if it works for me and I'm excited! I love your honesty and simplicity with explaining how to budget, what it is and the importance. New subscriber ❤❤

Carter I would LOVEEE if you started a podcast on financial literacy in your twenty’s- as someone who grew up in a family who did not know financial literacy in the slightest you are teaching me sooooo much!
@CarterSullivan2 жыл бұрын
I actually had one for a little bit but truth be told I just don't have the time right now to add anything on my plate with balancing a corporate job and KZbin! I need to make sure I still have good work/life balance sadly. But if I ever pursued content creation full time I would consider bringing back the podcast! It just isn't where I want to focus my energy right now, that's KZbin!

thank you so much for this video, it's so so helpful! just wondering if you have any tips/could make a video on grocery budgeting?? i swear that's my partner and i's biggest money eater! it's so hard for us to budget groceries and save money on them - especially when we live in a house of three adults with big appetites!
@CarterSullivan3 жыл бұрын
Honestly with budgeting for so ling I've learned that some categories are going to fluctuate which for us is groceries. As I've mentioned I'm PAST the hardcore intense budgetting, I just do it as s guideline so if we go over on groceries to me it isn't a big deal because we have wiggle room in our budget! But to keep our grocery bills low we pricematch & make a list before!
@sserafimimpact3 жыл бұрын
@@CarterSullivan Thank you so much! I've never tried price matching before but I should definitely start doing that! Love your videos so much, so happy I came across your channel. Thanks for all the advice you share

Can you show us how you made your spreadsheet? like a step by step or link a blank copy in the description one day? I’ve created the general budget part but I’ve been looking into how to make a spending/transactions chart with the categories but your setup is only the 2nd one I’ve seen with it

I always assumed the cash budget system follows the zero budget rule but I felt too restricted and ended up over spending. I found other cash budgeters who didn’t follow the zero based budget and found that it worked way better for me. I agree, it’s definitely trial and error. We shouldn’t expect budgeting to work out the first time but understand it’s a learning process.
@CarterSullivan3 жыл бұрын
Yes I totally feel that!! I hated the cash budgetting system and felt like I should give up on budgetting but I found what works for me & went with that!

After watching this video, I was mortified to find out just how much I spent on eating our/Starbucks in December of 2021…. Wow… out of control. I can only image how much money could have been saved . Is Starbucks scam? Has to be.
@CarterSullivan3 жыл бұрын
Haha I felt this way the first year I started budgetting, you arent alone! I went from buying Starbucks everyday (sometimes twice a day) to not even once s week. It all comes down to enjoying your coffee set up at home, so invest in your at home coffee set up. We have a nespresso and I love it so much I don't think about Starbucks!
