Thanks for your quilting tutorials. I have taught myself at age 59 how to quilt with them, yours are always the best. Quilting is something I have always wanted to do. I made my first quilt using this chevron pattern for my first grand child and liked the triangle work so much I designed my own design for my second quilt that is almost complete. Thanks Jenny!

OMGoodness that Chevron quilt is great. I love those half square triangles. They can be used in so many patterns. You have changed my life with your tutorials Jenny. It has given me so much inspiration to make quilts for my family before I die. LOL. Certainly it is on my "bucket list" to make my family members a quilt and these easy patterns will make it happen.

Hi Rahjs Girl, have you already finished piecing the top? It depends on how wide you want your border to be. To figure out how much you'll need, you'll need to measure your quilt top, find the perimeter and divide that by the width of fabric. That number will then be multiplied by how wide you want your border to be. I always add an extra quarter to half yard on top of that as well, just to be same so you have some wiggle room for mess ups! :) I hope this helps!!

Why is it that no one ever tells us what size the quilt ends up being? Is this an unknown quilters rule? I mean it's beautiful but I want to put it on my bed and wallow in it all night.LOL This is my first time time even hearing about layer cake quilts ! Awsome !!!

The picture says 72' wide by 86' long then add borders, which will be a Queen size quilt... I have made this in various sizes which is just a case of how many blocks you want. I didn't use layer cakes I cut from fabric so it's always good to have an idea what you would like the centre size to be when buying fabric. Baby Quilt 36" x 54" Afghan/Lap Size 54" x 72" Twin Quilt 54" x 90" Double Quilt 72" x 90" Queen Quilt 90" x 108" King Quilt 108" x 108"
