LOL. Your hooked now. I started watching Jenny 12?13 years ago, let’s just say the rest is history. Watching her succeed helped me succeed at my quilting. She was like watching your sister or your neighbor succeed. Then I visited the shops a couple years ago. I’m a happy quilter.

Jenny is the very best at teaching quilting and showing you how you can do all these scary blocks. I have been a fan of Jenny's for years and i have to watch her every day or i feel like i missed a special visit with my sister. Her daughter Natalie is as talented as her mother and why not . Both are Angels from Heaven sending us blessings to us everyday.❤😊

Hello Jenny and Natalie! I always look forward to your tutorials. The favourite 15 series has been fabulous! I hope you have plans to start another series together in the new year. Great point, Natalie, about how extra seams in a section will affect the final dimension of the units. A tiny amount of fabric is taken up each time a seam is pressed over the thickness of the thread. Perhaps taking a scant 1/4 seam between those skinny strips in the middle would minimize this. It warms my heart to see the way that Natalie looks at her mom at the end of the video. ❤️ Thank you, ladies, and stay well! Muskoka ON 🇨🇦

I've loved this block since way back in the day when you introduced it the first time. BUT, to see this new twist on the pattern by setting the altered four patch in a star, AND seeing how you offset the rows by alternately adding a sashing to the beginning of the row or to the end of the row, just gave a great example of the many things you can do with a block. I usually think "balanced" (e.g. if you have a sashing on the left side of the row, then you must have one on the right side if the row), but this just stretched my mind, seeing what happens when you alternate the sashings! Thank you for this new tutorial!

I love that Natalie is appearing on so many of your tutorials. She is my favorite. I love this block. If I decide to be lazy, this will look good without cutting it down. But then the star legs size would have to change. Oh well, guess if I make this, I will follow suit. Love you guys.

Natalie, thanks for the explanation of why more seams on one row/column than the other can cause mismatched sizes. I guess that if you have perfectly sized seams and perfect ironing technique this wouldn’t be true, but who can claim that?!?!

I love this block. I'm glad for the refresher. Making the 4patch into a star - I love. I made my four patch using the colors of the Alabama Football colors. I had a big football panel with a black background, so I made the star points in a burgundy with the background in black. I placed the stars around the panel and turned into a quilt for a little boy who is a big Alabama fan. It turned out so good I am planning on making two more. Thank you Jenny and Natalie.

I love my rotating mats (and yes, I do have e several - square and round!). Before we had these rotating mats, many of us used a smaller mat and just turned it - so thank you Jenny for mentioning that this is an alternative as the rotating ones can be a bit pricey! And - I love putting a smaller disappearing 4 patch in the middle of a star!!! This has my brain thinking about other disappearing blocks made smaller to fit inside of any sized star!!!

Love this quilt! You could always go the four at a time flying geese vice the HST’s. You would just need (4) 4 7/8 x 4 7/8 of color and (1) 9 1/4 x 9 1/4 of background. This would reduce the seams as well. Going to make this quilt for sure! Thank you!!!! Generates so many ideas!
