Hey Tom! I love your tutorials. Although I work in Davinci Resolve, I am using the same principles you show on this channel. U explain things extremly well

Thanks Matt. I can try and make some Resolve tutorials if you'd like

@@ThomasBoykin I need some resolve tutorials about mixing in 5.1, that would be great! I can do it much better now but i would like to have assurance about it. Or if you can do some tutorials on LFE, it would be nice too

Hey Thom, Could you please make a video on how to properly route a mix for downmix purposes? I find it a bit challenging, especially when I want to downmix stems like dialogue, SFX, music, etc., at the same time. Thanks!

So when switching object for instance, you would have to audiosuite them right what you have in inserts and sends like eq,compression and reverb
@ThomasBoykin5 сағат бұрын
No, you shouldn’t have to do that
@santhoshraina73605 сағат бұрын
@ThomasBoykin The reverb sends will also be as an object?

I didnt know the bus/object switch, nice! Thanks. Now a stupid question, I know atmos has re-renders so you can make 5.1 stems, like dial, music, whatever. What happend with the objects, how do you include them in such stems? PS: Oh I think the magic word is Groups.
@ThomasBoykin13 сағат бұрын
They are included in the groups. So when it comes back into PT with this setup they are included in your stems

Why not 7.1.4?

I am all for learning new skills, but can anyone point to any movies or movie genres that actually use ATMOS in a released film. I am not seeing it but that does not mean it doesn't exist.

Atmos mixes are usually on 4k blu rays, and Netflix etc stream some kind of downgraded atmos, but you won’t see that it’s available on a movie unless your home theater supports it. It can sense what you have available for listening. Of course it’s more fun in movies with crazy stuff going on like sci-fi. I just got my collection started with a used 5.1.4 receiver and I’m pretty happy. I think there’s a box in the fine print that says “Dolby atmos.”
