I made mine 48 inches long. I allowed 3/4" on the starting end. I got 12 holes because I went every 3 inches from the outside of the circle. I used my adjustable T square and put that on the outer most edge of the circle and made a 45 degree angle line and then I drew the line on the opposite end. No need to measure an inch. Came out beautiful. Thanks for the video.

I saw something you could do on your holes to keep them from having so many splinters. When you drill your holes, once the drill bit goes through the wood turn it over and drill the other side to the center. This will keep the outside of the board from splintering. What store did you get that can of paint from?

This was exactly what I was looking for, thanks so much for making this video. I mounted mine on the wall so I cut all of the jig saw cuts in the same direction which worked out all. I think if I were to do it over again I would make them larger, maybe 6 feet to hold more rods.

Great video I will be storing some of my rod's this way. Personally I'd mark all holes first. Put your drill in lower speed (1) drilling mode. You may find it easier to pre-drill the holes before you use a "hole saw". Finish edge with a router (if you own one) and for your slots I would just of turned the level on its edge to mark both lines. I probably sound criticizing, I don't mean it to be, just trying to help others, Take care Tight lines, p.s. I'm a Carpenter "and" a Fisher. ;)

shouldve built a square frame and then put hinges on one end and a slide lock on the other. when you want a rod you unlock it and lower it down. same concept as an attic door in the ceiling. it beats reaching up and sliding the rods out trying not to hit the guides.

I think the ones i got are 1/2 this size, holding maybe 8 rods each and cost $10 on sale. the openings are all felt lined and the bracketing is the blind type where you turn a screw into the wall/ceiling, then slide and pull to secure.
@BDOML91012 жыл бұрын
@@littlegoobie Most of the ones u buy have every other rod facing the other direction instead of all facing one way as these do...Which allows for more rods because u don't have to space them as far apart to keep your reels from hitting...
