Thank you for this wonderful tutorial! Could you please explain how to properly measure how long your zipper should be when cutting off the ends? Maybe how long it should be in relation to the bag width. 1" shorter than the bag, or something similar?

Excellent teacher! Love this item but personally I'll make mine longer/deeper. A friend introduced me to the nylon version and I love them but this video gives me the idea to make and give as gifts in fabric that the recipient loves! What a great video with no voice/spoken words!!

I finally thought I’d mastered zipper tabs as when I top stitched my zip it was perfect BUT when I sewed the bag together (with the zip folded towards the outer fabric) the tabs ended up misshapen. ☹️. Any idea what I did wrong?

Hi Nicole. I’m a beginner. Your video is very helpful. My question is...some say to face the zipper towards the lining as that is how it will naturally want to face, but you say to face it towards the exterior fabric. Is that because that’s just your way and there is more than one correct way? I’ll try it that way. Maybe it will work better. Thanks Nicole.

A new way to do zipper tabs, brilliant! At least I don’t have to fold in the center, fold the sides to the center, then fold the center with your method. I like it just fine!

I love everything about this bag. Unfortunately I couldn't get the tabs to look nice. They got sucked into the seam. I watched other videos and they show the ziper with the tabs a bit shorter than the exterior fabric. I'm confused.

Very helpful tutorial! Thank you! I'm wondering, if you want to size up on the bag, would everything stay the same (measurements?) I noticed at the bottom when you cut out the 2" for the flat bottom, you said that dimension was chosen based on the 10x9 measurements. Would it still be 2" if I had a larger bag, or I should size up on the bottom corner cuts? Thank you!
