if u know how to code complex structures that are always needed for games BY UR OWN than clearly yes :) if not u will keep referencing always and u will never get EXACTLY what u want (or need) for ur Game so in general it will be a pure waste of Time at all. Always remember that Unreal Sensei can only give u the "Path to follow" for the Engine. The whole implementing Part FOR UR OWN GAME is always by urself ! Generally spoken, learn the Know-How for the things u need to do and what u have to do to create EXACTLY what u want. Thats what 99% of all Beginners dont rly get in their mind (sadly i was 1 of the 99%...). Than they struggle hard, harder and stop "dreaming" because they start to realize that Gamedevelopment need a strong fundamental Knowledge of coding at all. If u think u can create something like Dark Souls or Super Mario etc. WITHOUT beeing able to code just a simple Snakegame or even damn Pong or Pac-Man ur a real Dreamer ! Everything is based on Fundamentals ! Always keep this in ur mind, it will safe ALOOOOT of Lifetime for u ;)

how long did it take you to recreate the 5hr video environment?
@sparrow7233
@sparrow7233 2 жыл бұрын
@@jagbirsingh5791 I just completed this one after going through the 5 hour one. I highly suggest the 5 hour one first. He goes over a lot but once you got to the environment portion its well worth it. As for how long, that entirely depends on the person who is going through the video. I am 100% new to this and it took me 2 days to go through the 5hr video and this 2 hour video probably took me about 12 hours to complete it. I did a lot of pausing and back tracking even 10-20 seconds just to follow pretty much step-by-step. I am thinking I will go through the 5hr and this one a few more times just so I can get better with the program. Following a tutorial may end up with a great something in the end. But I want to actually learn what I am doing and that will take me some time. I hope he comes out with a "Top Down" game tutorial similar to a command and conquer like feel where you build selectable options and place them in the world how you want it to look. I'm also highly considering his "MasterClass" but I need to make sure the rest of my bills are covered. (If there is a Black Friday Sale on it I'm pretty much guaranteed to pick it up if I do not have it before then.)

@@TiERXGhost One is for creating environments/graphics, (it also goes through the basics, that's why he said skip to a certain part of video if you watched the other one)And this video is for creating the logic for games. What you could do to show what you learnt, is do the 5 hour long one, then this video. Then combine them. So take your 5 hour video one, and then make this video's game within that one from scratch.

If you're following along on UE5.2 and you're stuck at 36:50 because there's no FirstPersonHUD, check the "TargetGame" folder downloaded from the description. As of this writing (August 2023) there is a folder included called "OriginalFPSTemplate" which appears to be the template used in this video. It includes the FirstPersonHUD blueprint, which you can migrate into your project. You'll also need the "FirstPersonCrosshair" texture from Content/FirstPerson/Textures in the Original FPS Template, or else you still won't see a crosshair. Or you can set your own crosshair under "Texture" on the "Draw Texture" node in the event graph for FirstPersonHUD. "S_TargetPoint" works fine.

Hello ! First, thank you so much for this tutorial. Like all of them, I'm litteraly loving them. This is clear, efficient, simple to understand and super user-friendly. Do you plan to make other videos about blueprints? (Learning blueprints for beginner, medium and advanced users maybe ? ) Same question about the best practices and a deep learning about the materials/super-materials and/or games/levels/scenes optimization with Unreal Engine 5 if possible. I imagine that all these points are in your courses but I dare to hope that some of the points quoted in my message will be exploited a little as a "taste". Dude, thank you so much, this is a huge help for me with blueprints as I could not previously find a comfortable starting point to learn about blueprints. If you have the time on your hands I would be most interested to see more videos and tutorials from you :) Some things I would like to mention: sometimes you go a little fast, and I would like it if you would explain the functionality of pretty much everything you do. That way I can understand why it's necessary better. Secondly, there were actually still some bugs at the end, but I found that this was actually a good thing, because it provided some practice on debugging things myself. The issues I found had to do with the ability to add to your score and win after the timer runs out, so long as you shot at the target just before. This would pull up a win screen on top of a lose screen.

On the widget editor portion they changed UE5 and you will not see the anchor by default. You have to first go under "panel" on the left, then drag in canvas panel, size it how you'd like, and then anything dragged into that (like a text box) will show the anchor. Thanks so much for these tutorials! If you redo this one, please slow it down a bit. The 5 hour one was perfectly paced. It was easy to follow this one also but it's hard to understand what we're doing and why in some portions....particularly the UI blueprint.

For the people who can't see the Text Score using Unreal Engine 5.1, before you create the "Text" Widget you have to create a "Canvas Panel" by searching in the Palette, and dragging the "Canvas Panel" in the Viewport (the big main section in the middle of the screen). And then you can create the "Text" Widget that will go inside the Canvas Panel as you will see in the "Hierarchy" panel (left side).

Man, this video was a great first project to complete. Your style of jumping right into it is so much better than a lot of these tutorials that over explain every single aspect of Unreal Engine. I want to know more about Blueprint now, but I'm glad you didn't go to heavily into it here. That stuff comes with time. Thanks for making this and I would love to see more projects like it.

This tutorial was extremely helpful, so thanks a ton, Zak. Can you please add a section in the next tutorial on how to package the game? I was able to go all the way through the tutorial and even imported some other assets like skeletons to give the temple a bit of a horror aspect, but I get some errors I don't understand when attempting to package it for Windows. Thanks again and can't wait to jump into your Master Class this week.

Great tutorial! However I have run into a couple of issues, mainly with the full release. As this is for the demo I could not see to find the same things you see in the full release, and some keybinds have changed. Overall, I think this is a great tutorial if you could give it a full release revision. I also ran into issues with moving assets, but I'll figure it out eventually. Edit: I've revised and fixed everything, this is an amazing tutorial. Thank you!

You are excellent at explaining the what, how, and why. Many tutors and tutorials gloss over the how and why. Your flow is also excellent at introducing bugs and opportunities to teach new concepts. 10/10.

Unreal Sensei is like BlenderGuru to me. I've watched a few tutorials so far and they're fantastic. Once I build my ddr5+4090 pc i'll definitely jump on these. I used to use early UE4 but my ddr3 pc was just too slow lol

Multiplied the velocity up to 1,000,000 instead of 1,000 to make the target YEET at 1:34:20. Definitely would recommend. But your tutorials are fantastic, probably going to end up getting one of your masterclasses because it'd clearly be worth the money.

I feel like a Samurai when I watch your videos. Being trained in the ways of Unreal like a grasshopper. Discovering the way of the blueprint like unsheathing a sword locked in mortal combat. Each small step guiding me closer to becoming a master. Thanks for the incredibal courses!

Great tutorial for UE5. I came across an edge case (bug) at 1:31:55, if the shoot just before the timer runs out and the projectile hits after the timeout you get both LOSE & WIN screen. To fix it I had to add a boolean check (branch) after AddScore to compare with gameover boolean in GM blueprint.

You start off slow and explicative enough for new people to understand, since you get bored after a while you just start zooming through stuff that newbies have no idea about. For the rest thank you for this tutorial, subscribed.
