How to make a Jelly Roll Rug that STAYS FLAT!

A couple years ago we put out one of the first video tutorials on how to make a jelly roll rug and you guys went crazy for it. It has nearly 240,000 views and is one of our most popular videos of all time.
Since then I've made LOTS of Jelly Roll Rugs, so we put out a new tutorial that combines all the tips and tricks I've learned along the way.
We're sharing it again today so you can learn how to keep it super flat without pressing the bejesus out of it only to have your lumps and bumps pop back up later to taunt you.

Thank you so much for this tutorial. I looked at so many other videos and this is the only one that really explained how to keep the rug flat! I started one and it was curving and wonky and I was so worried my first rug would turn out really bad. I pulled out the stitches and started over. Thank goodness for your video. I'm in the process of sewing my jelly roll together, but in the corners it puffs up a bit. Could it be that my zick Zack stich is too tight? This is my first one I'm making.

That could be due to a couple of different reasons, starting 29min Stephanie goes over some steps to make sure the rug stays flat. The tension could also be a little tight, like you mentioned, or you could be rolling the curves a little too tight causing them to buckle up. I hope that helps!
