Onna bugeisha Journal Cover, - a keepsake for the female warriors out there XXX
There are links below to the videos that show how to make the leather look card and to - how to make the interchangeable internal journals.
These lovely items improve with use. I have continued to polish them with shoe polish to keep a strong water-resistant finish and the additional applications of polish just enhance the patina of the piece.
This is a long video that really shows all the processes and the design considerations that are made. There are time stamps below the text to help you keep track and also give you the chance to pause and return to the same spot in the future.

Making card look and feel like leather is a Must watch first. The plastic is used to stiffen, only. Very good idea and it is repurposing something which would have gone to landfill. I would have liked the link to the other videos to show up at the start so I could watch in the right order. This is a really lovely item. I love paper and books, etc - if I make one of these will I be able to write in the book!! Gorgeous, thank you.

Hi Lindy, I used to design, cut and sew garments, and then I was a traditional uphlsterer so am used to designing and cutting. However, if you break it down to its parts it is a daily simple idea. Hope you can find the time to give it a try. An easier project is the video on the concertina journal, which gives some of the basics xxxx Thanks very much for watching xxx

Labor intensive. Just wondering if the milk bottle plastic could be replaced by thick cardboard the kind we get at the grocery store to bring home the groceries. More recycling and if instead off rivets flat cord like shoe laces could be used crossing them in the front and tying in the front. Just thinking😊

I think that anything with some integral strength and reasonable longevity would work, and there is so much that we use that is only single usage but will take an age to decompose. Fruit cartons would be a good one X😀
