I think we all sometimes take for granted how time consuming and difficult these videos are to make. That is absolutely true. Technicaly they don’t have to put much effort into content the same way that I don’t have to put much effort in my job as a teacher. But if I enjoy what I do and would like to keep my job and be an attractive employee I should make an effort. to be fair though, youtube's auto generated captions are actually very good. like, the only things that they really make mistakes are when multiple people are talking at once/someone's talking over a loud noise, or when someone's using words that aren't in the dictionary (eg subnautica is not a word that it'll recognize). it's improved a ridiculous amount from when it first started.
