I know right, it usually takes so long to get rid of cliffs. It takes me about 30 minutes to make a good sized cliff but it takes me 1 hour to destroy that same cliff. Hopefully she kept it.

@@AwakaruForFun it doesnt keep the sound, but the texture of the path underneath will appear on the custom design. it also keeps it round like the normal paths. like if you had the wooden path down and then a custom on top of it, you would be able to see the lines between the wood int he custom design.

I came back to this video to say thank you for a great tutorial! After watching this for the first time I was inspired to do it as well. I layed a custom wood design on top and also used the corral fence. I used the log staircase on each side so that it kind of matches the wooden bridge. It's not as long as your bridge but still has the curved effect. I showed my husband your tutorial and he may do it for his island as well. Thanks again!

Don't be insecure. It doesn't need to be like everyone else's. Just go with the flow and do what you want. It's all about how much time and effort you are willing to put into it and if you have a plan or not. The people with 5 star, beautiful islands put a lot of hours and dedication into making them that way. Take it from me; My island is haphazard. It has so many themes at once, but with a natural touch still. I couldn't decide on one theme, so I threw things together. lol I haven't spent as many hours as some people have, about 265+ hours, but managed to get some work done on my island. Just take it slow, it's not a competition. lol

When I display designs over paths the design only appears inside the path and not overtop. Is there a way to get around this?

I think I have the same problem. I.e. the grass is still visible on both edges of the bridge. Can this be fixed with a better design that I put on top of the path? If so, does anyone have a code for one that works and looks like wooden planks or stone?

Staffan Mossberg google wooden path codes and find one you like. Then you can download through the terminal in the able sisters shop. Be sure there aren’t any transparent pixels. This will reduce the grass around the edges the most. You might see a little bit of grass because of how the cliff squares are formed in the game to not be perfect squares. But once you decorate whatever it is, any grass peeking isn’t distracting.

Staffan Mossberg You can also just put the pattern down through the custom pattern app. Even if it has a transparent pixel, it’ll cover the grass. Or just put down a custom pattern on grass with the island customization tool. Either way its the same and will cover the full square. This is how a lot of people got paths before they got the island designer tool (me included) and its easier than trying to find a path with no transparent pixel (which is rare bc its easy to do what I just stated so you can get the best of both worlds)

it's happening cause the custom design has at least one transparent pixel. to fix this, you could either find another pattern without any transparent pixels, or scan your design with acpatterns.com/editor and edit out the transparent pixels yourself. good luck!

How does the custom path not get a grass border?

Put a Stone or any other Path there and then place your Custom Path, so they actually show up on the Map too

Know but when u put a path and put a custom design above it, the design leaves a grass border around the side

@@_itsdani if the custom design has any transparent pixels it will conform to the base path, but if it's solid it will look like this. Or if you're happy with the custom path on its own don't put anything under it for no borders

Omg, I just got this game a few days ago, and once I unlock teriforming, I'm totally gonna try to do this. I've personally never understood why people would want to turn their rural town/islands into built cities in Animal Crossing games. I felt the naturey looks that the towns start with is charming. But this.... This is amazing, and I love it.

I have something similar to this, that I use as a fast travel path from my resident services to the shops! But I like you're idea so much more. Now I'm rethinking my entire 5 star island. Hahaha.
