Haha that last clip "if you cant see your sewing machine, then you're doing it right!"... yep that gives me nightmares about mountain of organza I was working with last year! I sort of want to make a petticoat, but then I keep thinking it's sooo much effort for something that is not seen, but alas it does give an awesome effect under dresses and skirts!

Thanks for the tutorial! I love it so much! Although I have a suggestion when sewing the ruffles, maybe you can leave one seam of the skirt base unsewn so it can be layed flat then you sew a really long ruffle then you sew the said ruffle onto the skirt base. Best to mark the layer placements so it can be even. Other than that, I love your tutorials! They have helped me so much when making my costumes and many more costumes to come.

Question Kirilee, when would you want a tulle petticoat vs a fabric one?
@KirileeCosplay2 жыл бұрын
It really depends what you are going for. A fabric one will be lighter and easier to cover hoops, but a tulle one dies give more of a dreamy look and can poof more.
@thevampireauthoress4 жыл бұрын
Could one make the ruffles out of tulle? I'm assuming that would require a longer base. Kinda like fusing the tea petticoat and this one into one?

The petticoat looks amazing! I want to make one in a similar style for a double circle skirt. Do you think a half circle skirt will be enough, or better to go with full circle?
@KirileeCosplay3 ай бұрын
It depends what you want the effect to be. This effect can work on a half circle skirt, but obviously you’ll have more volume (and weight though) with a full circle skirt
@jw49853 ай бұрын
@@KirileeCosplay thanks for the reply! I was worried that the half circle might not do much and drown under the weight of the double circle medium cotton skirt, and that the full circle one might make the entire skirt more heavy (I was planning on making a summer petticoat). If our crinoline/hoop skirt is a bit big for an A-line shape, would a circle skirt base work?
@KirileeCosplay3 жыл бұрын
I would honestly draft a lining to go over the hoops you have first, make it a little bit bigger than the hoops themselves. The reason why I say this is because a full circle skirt is still going to be too big and it will be extra bulk and weight
