This quilt would make a wonderful sunflower quilt.

My thoughts exactly. My daughter loves the song, “You are my sunshine”, so I thought I’d make her a throw with the sunflowers on it, and maybe do some needle work too. Maybe some minky fabric for a backing too. I think she’d love it.

Did anyone else see a 3 dimensional look with the light/dark contrast of the Dresdens? That really struck me when looking at the quilt hanging. So much fun stuff to be done with that Dresden.

Dresdens have been a goal for a long time but I’ve been chicken. Your explanations make perfect sense. I have that wood tool 😉. Love this tutorial and it’s great to see you!! Thank you 😊 Aha!! I just realized this would make a neat snowflakes ❄️ quilt!

Great quilt. I would back stitch or use a setting stitch at each end of fold over on the Dresden and at each end of joining the plates. Start a 1/2” in from edge of point and back stitch, then go forward. Everything stays together really well.

Oh my goodness!!! That quilt looks so arresting! I love the look of circles sprinkled randomly. Adding this one to the top of my “must make” list. (Since everything was cut into 2.5” widths, I may just use a jelly roll! Although I do have a layer cake bought years ago from MSQC with the fabric line named ‘Moonstone’ that would totally fit this theme! Now I just have to find it… 🤭), Thank you Jenny for an awesome quilt design and excellent tutorial video MSQC Team!!❤

Jenny, I have looked forward to this tutorial since I saw your Tuesday night chat! You did not disappoint! Of course, you never have disappointed me! Thank you so much for a beautiful idea! Oh, I think pressing the center onto the background at the same time was a time saving idea. I know a lot of quilters would have made a ring of fusible so it wouldn’t be on the entire center. This was a very practical option! Thank you!

Very beautiful! Happy to learn how to do the 2 color Dresden. Weekend project is going to be a one large blue and white Dresden plate on a blue or gray background with red and white stripes attached to one end to make an Independence Day flag for my front porch. Thank you for the inspiration, Jenny!

I’m fascinated with the orange/white Dresden Kiser above where Jenny is working. At first it looked like the plate petals were different length before I realized there was another circle laid on top. Got me thinking - instead of a circle for the center, how about an oblong which could give that same look of different length petals! Maybe something fun to play with before adding the center circle????
