Make sure you weigh your flour and sugar on a food scale instead of eyeballing it. Also sift your flour and sugar. It's a total game changer! When I first started baking, i would scoop the flour, pack it down and then level it off...without even shifting it! 😬 I was clueless and my cakes were inconsistent and had streaks that looked undercooked. The moment i started sifting & weighing the sugar and flour (i sift cake flour too), it changed everything. One cup of flour is equal to 4.25 oz. So if a recipe calls for 3 cups of flour, you want to use 12.75 oz. A cup of sugar is 8 oz just like a regular cup...but still measure 😁 It's also very very very important to cream your butter and sugar together...if you're not sure what that means, there's a ton of videos on here. Just made this cake and it came out well. But be warned, this cake is not that sweet. That may be some people's preference, but I was hoping it would be sweeter. I will definitely be adding a glaze to try to give it more sweetness. But overall, it is very moist and beautiful!
